Press release for March 13, 2019
1:30 a.m., Officers performed a residence check in the 1100 block of Calhoun Street after the resident believed they heard a noise in their basement. Nothing was found.
8:02 a.m., Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Walnut Street, for a vehicle that had been damaged. Officers spoke with a victim whose vehicle's windshield had been damaged. The investigation is still continuing.
8:37 a.m., Officers executed a municipal arrest warrant on a subject that was released from the Chillicothe Correctional Center. The subject was unable to post the required appearance bond and was transported to Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail in lieu of bond or court appearance.
9:21 a.m., An officer had a vehicle towed from the 1400 block of Polk Street.
9:45 a.m., An officer made contact with a resident in the 1100 block of Fairway at the request of another law enforcement agency. The resident had a vehicle that was in their jurisdiction and they were questioning what was going to be done with it as it was causing a hazard. The residents are going to contact the agency.
11:27 a.m., An officer arrested a subject in the 10 block of South Washington Street on a probation and parole warrant. The subject was transferred to Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail.
1:14 p.m., An officer received a parking complaint in the 2700 block of North Washington Street. It was determined to be a private property situation.
1:17 p.m., An officer responded to a report of a subject at business in the 1000 block of Graves Street that had been previously trespassed from the business. The subject was brought to the police department, processed and released on a citation.
1:23 p.m., Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Ryan Lane and Washington Street, for a two vehicle accident. Two vehicles collided in the intersection causing moderate damage to both vehicles. The driver of one vehicle and a passenger in the other vehicle were transported by Chillicothe EMS for injuries. Citations were issued to both drivers involved in the accident, one for failing to yield right-of-way and one for driving while suspended.
2:25 p.m., Officers received a report of a careless and imprudent driver that was east of town on US 36. headed west toward Chillicothe. An officer monitored traffic , but was unable to locate the vehicle.
3:36 p.m., An officer responded to a report of suspicious activity in the 700 block of Williams Street. The investigation is continuing in reference to an abandoned vehicle.
3:46 p.m., An officer responded to a report of a leaving the scene of an accident in the 900 block of Dickinson Street. A description of the suspect vehicle was received and the investigation is continuing.
On March 13, the Chillicothe Police Department received 118 calls for service.
