Press release for March 23, 2019
3:32 a.m., An officer checked the area of Polk and Miller Streets for a reported intoxicated individual staggering around in the street. The officer was unable to locate anyone.
3:32 a.m., An officer assisted a resident in the 300 block of Samuel Street that had a water leak under their residence and was able to get the water turned off.
11:56 a.m., Officers responded to the intersection of Jackson and Washington Streets in reference to a two-vehicle crash. As a result, Cerrina Anders was issued a citation for following too close resulting in an accident. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.
2:21 p.m., An officer responded to a noise complaint received from the 1400 block of Trenton Road. It was determined that the noise was coming from somewhere in the county.
2:38 p.m., Officers received a burglary and theft report from a residence in the 300 block of Jackson Street and the investigation is continuing.
6:38 p.m., Officers responded to a domestic dispute reported in the 1400 block of Jackson Street. One of the subjects left before officers arrival. Officers were advised the incident was verbal and no arrest made.
8:23 p.m.,Officers responded to a domestic dispute in the 1400 block of Jackson Street. It was a verbal argument and no arrests made.
8:25 p.m., Officers responded to the intersection of Washington and 3rd Streets for a two-vehicle accident. Officers determined a vehicle driven by Jeremy Walton was stopped in traffic on Washington Street before the 3rd Street intersection when his vehicle was impacted in the rear by Israel Alsbury. Walton, who had complained of neck pain, refused treatment and transport from EMS. Alsbury was issued a citation for followed too closely and for no proof of insurance, with a court date of April 24 in Chillicothe.
8:39 p.m., An officer recovered a vehicle bumper with a license plate attached, near Third and Washington Streets. If you have lost your front bumper and would like to get it returned, it is at the police department.
9:01 p.m., Officers responded to a report of what appeared to be a small fire by the retaining wall at the old prison site in the 1500 block of Third Street. An officer checked the area and was unable to locate signs of a fire.
9:26 p.m., Officers responded to a report of possible animal neglect in the 600 block of Missouri Avenue due to a dog constantly barking. The officer checked on dog and repositioned it’s food and water to where it had access to it but was unable to make contact at residence.
10:02 p.m., Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in Simpson Park.
On March 23, the Chillicothe Police Department received 64 calls for service.

7:47 a.m., An officer performed a motorist assist at Polk and Dickinson Streets. The vehicle had a flat tire and will be moved soon.
8:45 a.m., Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Springhill Street, for a two-vehicle accident. Michael Girres was backing out of a private drive when he struck a parked vehicle owned by Justin Roberts. Girres vehicle sustained no damage and Roberts vehicle sustained minor damage. No injuries were reported and no citations were issued.
12:25 p.m., An officer responded to El Toro located at 108 Washington Street in reference to a report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon investigation it was determined that there was minor damage, if any, to a parked vehicle when a vehicle pulled in to park and no injuries were reported.
12:48 p.m., A license plate that had been found and turned in to the police department was returned to the owner.
1:23 p.m., A debit card that had been found and turned in to the police department was returned to the business owner in the 400 block of West Business Hwy. 36.
1:51 p.m., An officer received a report involving interfering with custody where court ordered visitation arrangements were not being adhered to.
2:00 p.m., An officer responded to a report of suspicious activity in the area of Clay and Boehner Place.
2:08 p.m., Officer received a report of and individual being followed as they were walking on Ann Street, the investigation determined it was unsubstantiated report.
2:34 p.m., Officers responded to a report of unauthorized use of a credit device where food products had been obtained in New York, by someone other than the cardholder, the investigation is continuing.
4:03 p.m., Officers were dispatched to probation and parole in the 90 block of Washington Street, for a male with a warrant. Officers arrested Shannon Brake on a Caldwell County warrant that has no bond. Brake was processed at the police department and released to Daviess-Dekalb Regional jail staff.
4:28 p.m., Officers served a warrant in the 300 block of Clay Street. The subject was unable to post bond, and was transferred to Daviess-Dekalb Regional Jail.
5:20 p.m., A report was received from a business in the 500 block of East Business 36 involving an employee’s threatening demeanor and statements in reference committing criminal acts at the workplace. The subject was arrested, processed and transferred to Daviess/ DeKalb County Regional Jail with information to the prosecutor.
6:16 p.m., Report of harassing phone call where subject was using profanity toward the complainant. The officer spoke with the suspect and no report made.
8:44 p.m., Report of disturbance in the 900 block of Elm Street where new tenants are trying to rush old tenants out of residence. Officers spoke with all involved and no report.
8:48 p.m., Officers responded to a loud music complaint from the 100 block of Webster Street.
On March 22, the Chillicothe Police Department received 109 calls for service.
