The Chillicothe Fire Department responded to a call at 7094 LIV 533 at 1:38 p.m., on Monday. Fire Chief Darrell Wright, said, his department received a call to dispatch in which the called stated someone had lit a field on fire next to their property and the fire was nearing their timberline.

“Upon arrival we found a ditch area and part of a grass field on fire,” Wright said. “The fire had started from a neighbor burning brush and it caught the leaves and grass on fire in the

ditch. It then got in the fence row and the open grass field.”

Firefighters used backpack blowers and the Kawasaki mule with water to extinguish the fire.

Crews were on the scene until nearly 3 p.m.
