Press Release for April 7, 2019

12:22 a.m., Officers were called to the 300 block of Mansur for a report of a disturbance. The party that caused the disturbance had left prior to officer arrival. No further disturbances occurred.

10:03 a.m., An officer received a report of theft in the 1000 block of Graves Street. The victim reported losing a wallet in the parking lot of the business. Video surveillance caught the incident and the suspect was located, arrested, processed at the police department, cited and released pending a future court appearance.

12:07 p.m., Officers arrested a subject in the 200 block of Graves Street on two Livingston County warrants, one for a probation violation and the other for forgery. The subject was unable to post the required bond and was transferred to the Daviess DeKalb Regional Jail.

12:42 p.m., An officer assisted a motorist who had ran out of gas at Washington Street and Clay Street.

12:46 p.m., An officer assisted with debris removal from Bus. 36 near US 65.

2:26 p.m., Officers responded to a neighbor dispute in the 1700 block of Derringer. The neighbors were advised of their remedies.

5:44 p.m., Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of East Jackson Street. Officers advised the incident was verbal in nature and no arrests were made.

6:59 p.m., Officers called to a business in the 1300 block of North Washington to a report of people smoking marijuana. Subjects were located and nothing of evidentiary value was located.

7:50 p.m., An officer received a complaint of noise in the area of Bel Air Drive. It was discovered to be a family gathering and the noise level was lessened.

8:25 p.m., An officer spoke with subjects in the 600 block of Walnut Street regarding a possible theft.

8:56 p.m., Officers were called to the area of Woodrow and Rosewood for a disturbance occurring in a motor vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and occupants and discovered a verbal domestic disturbance had occurred. One of the parties was cited for failing to register a motor vehicle and no insurance.

9:44 p.m., Officers received a report of harassment in the 600 block of JFK. No harassment was occurring and officer resolved further issues.

10:26 p.m., Officers responded to a disturbance at a hotel in the 1000 block of South Washington Street. As a result of the investigation, officers arrested two subjects for peace disturbance and trespassing. Both subjects were processed at the police department and transferred to the Daviess DeKalb Regional Jail pending the filing of formal charges.

11:00 p.m., An officer received a noise complaint on Gale Street. The officer was unable to locate the reported complaint.

On April 7, the Chillicothe Police Department received 63 calls for service.

12:15 a.m.,, Officers were called to a business in the 600 block of West Business 36 to a report of a suspicious person in a vehicle. The subject had left the area prior to officers’ arrival.

1:50 a.m., Officers were called to a two vehicle injury accident on Washington Street at Third Street. Officers reported an eastbound vehicle failed to yield the right of way and pulled into the path of a southbound vehicle causing a collision. A passenger in one of the vehicles was transported to Hedrick Medical for treatment of injuries.

7:00 a.m., Officers provided an escort for a 5K Run.

7:36 a.m., An officer received a report of property damage in the 600 block of Sunset. Investigation continues.

9:32 a.m., Officers were called to Hickory Drive for an animal complaint. An officer spoke to the animal owner about the complaint.

9:51 a.m., An officer received call of vehicle being driven in a careless and imprudent manner in the area of Broadway and Webster Street. However, the officer was unable to locate vehicle.

10:12 a.m., An officer was called to station in reference to a custody dispute. The dispute was resolved and child was returned to proper guardian.

11:46 a.m., An officer was called to the 1500 block of Lambert for trespassing. Officer advised subject of complaint and subject immediately left property.

11:54 a.m., An officer received a report of theft in the 300 block of East Jackson Street. Investigation continues.

12:13 p.m., An officer was called to the area of the 1500 block of Maples for smoke in the area. Smoke was discovered to be from a burning leaf pile.

12:53 p.m., Officers were called to the 600 block of West Business 36 to a report of a vehicle being driven in a careless and imprudent manner. The officer located the vehicle at a business, contacted owner, and provided the owner a ride to his residence.

3:19 p.m., An officer received a parking complaint in the 200 block of Hillcrest. The officer contacted vehicle owner and advised of complaint. Owner moved vehicle.

4:19 p.m., Officers were called to a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of East Polk. As a result of the investigation, a male subject was taken into custody for domestic assault. The subject was processed at the police department and transferred to the Daviess DeKalb Regional Jail pending the filing of formal charges.

5:38 p.m., An officer was called to the 400 block of Grandview regarding a dog running at large. Officer located dog but unable to locate owner. Dog was taken to animal shelter.

6:57 p.m., An officer received a call of a vehicle being driven in a careless and imprudent manner in the 400 block of Cherry. Vehicle was gone upon officer arrival.

11:13 p.m., Officers received a report of a juvenile riding in the back of a truck in the 2600 block of North Washington Street. Officers were unable to locate the reported vehicle.

On April 6, the Chillicothe Police Department received 73 calls for service.
