Press release for April 9, 2019

12:15 a.m., An officer at police department spoke with subject in reference custody issues.

1:28 a.m., Officers responded to a commercial business alarm in the 500 block of West Business 36 Highway. It was determined the deliveryman activated the alarm.

4:29 a.m., An officer responded to a report of suspicious activity in the 300 block of Mansur Street, however, the officer was unable to locate anything suspicious.

7:35 a.m., Officers responded to the 2600 block of US 65 Highway regarding a motor vehicle collision. Officers determined a vehicle driven by Dimitri Jack Hurst Dickerson and entering onto US-65, failed to yield the right of way to a vehicle driven by Haley Colleen Kidd, as it was southbound on US-65. No injuries were reported. Dickerson was issued a municipal citation for fail to yield resulting in an accident.

7:54 a.m., Officers responded to a report of illegal parking in the 1300 block of Monroe Street, the officer checked location and found nothing illegal.

10:07 a.m., Officers took a report of a vehicle leaving the scene of an accident in the 500 block of Park Lane. Investigation is continuing.

12:45 p.m., An officer received a report of a burglary and theft at a residence in the 400 block of Calhoun Street, the investigation is continuing.

12:53 p.m., Officers responded to a report of possible careless and imprudent driver that was southbound toward Chillicothe on US-65. Reports stated the vehicle also struck the curb as pulling into Hedrick Medical Center lot…..Officer made contact and it was determined to be a medical issue…..

3:00 p.m.,Officers arrested a subject in the 1100 block of Oak Street previously reported assault. The suspect was transported to the police department where they were processed and then transported to Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail in lieu of charges of domestic assault 2nd degree.

4:31 p.m., Officers responded to a report of possible child abuse taking place in the 700 block of Elm Street, however, it was determined that child was misbehaving and was being disciplined.

5:37 p.m., Officers responded to a report of debris in the roadway on US-36, just west of Chillicothe. An officer removed debris from roadway.

6:35 p.m., Officers responded to a motorist assist in the 1700 block of Borden Street. The vehicle was pushed from the roadway.

7:00 p.m., Officers responded to a report that a vehicle struck a building in the 200 block of Washington Street. It was determined that the building was not struck it was a cigarette station and no report was made.

7:26 p.m., Officers responded to a well-being check of young subjects in the 1100 block of Polk Street. An officer checked and determined that they were okay.

9:50 p.m., An officer attempted paper service in the 900 block of Easton Street, however, the officer was unable to make contact.

On April 9, the Chillicothe Police Department received 119 calls for service.
