Press release for May 14, 2019

10:45 a.m., The school resource officer investigated an incident of harassment at the Chillicothe Middle School. The investigation led to a report of two juvenile suspects to be forwarded to the juvenile office.

11:38 a.m., Officers provided a courtesy ride to an individual from the 900 block of South Washington Street to Clay and Locust Street area.

1:50 p.m., Officers out in 400 block of Washington on public speaking detail.

3:44 p.m., Report of two vehicle, non-injury vehicle crash at US 65 and Business Highway 36 intersection. A southbound vehicle was stopped for the traffic signal and was struck from behind when that driver’s attention was drawn from the roadway and they proceeded on, after misreading the left turn arrow for the green signal to proceed straight. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

4:03 p.m., Officer performed a well-being check in the 800 block of Walnut Street the subject stated that they would go for medical attention.

6:06 p.m., Report of a ladder against lines in the area of Dickinson and Miller Streets, an officer checked area and couldn’t locate the ladder.

7:06 p.m., Well-being check on kids in the 100 block of Webster Street and the kids were okay.

8:58 p.m., Well-being check in the 1100 block of Grandview. The officers unable to contact anyone at residence and later the requesting party called back and said that contact had been made and were okay.

9:17 p.m., Open door at business in 100 block of E. Ryan Lane. The building was checked and secured.

9:47 p.m., Reported suspicious activity in the 400 block of N. Washington Street, however, no suspicious activity or anyone observed by officers.

9:58 p.m., Call stating “something going on at an address” on Walnut Street resident was contacted and advised officers it was an accidental dial.

On May 14, the Chillicothe Police Department received 88 calls for service.
