3:36 a.m., Officer out on foot patrol in downtown area.

6:06 a.m., Commercial business alarm in the 600 block of South Washington Street, which was determined to be an employee activation.

8:24 a.m., Officer out in the 100 block of Virginia Avenue, possible harassment, the investigation is continuing.

9:16 a.m., Officers attempted warrant service in 200 block of Bridge Street.

9:44 a.m., Try to contact resident in the 1500 block of Burnam Road about an animal complaint, however, officers were unable to reach the resident.

9:44 a.m., Officer responded to a report of a tire in the roadway on Highway 36.

11:38 a.m., Officer spoke with a subject in reference to a possible phone scam.

11:54 a.m., Officers reported to the Verelle Peniston State School in reference to contraband being found in the school. The investigation revealed that illegal controlled substance had been brought into the school by an employee. The suspect was arrested, transported to the police department, processed and was transported to Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail in lieu of formal charges.

12:27 p.m., Officers took a report of property damage in the 300 block of East Jackson. The incident remains under investigation.

12:27 p.m., Officers took a report of a stolen tricycle from the front porch of a residence in the 500 block of St. Louis Street, the investigation is continuing.

2:32 p.m., Officers out in the 100 block of Polk Street with school resource officer, reference a juvenile issue.

2:54 p.m., Officers were called to Hedrick Medical Center to assist with an unruly patient, the subject was calmed down.

3:35 p.m., Verbal domestic disturbance reported in the 900 block of Frederick. No arrests were made.

5:43 p.m., Officer attempted to contact resident in 1500 block of Burnam Road about an animal complaint. Officer could not make contact.

5:46 p.m., Traffic complaint received of vehicles not stopping for stop sign in 100 block of Bridge Street. No violation was observed by officer.

6:20 p.m., Officer investigated a two-vehicle non-injury vehicle crash in the 1300 block of N. Washington Street. Crash occurred as a vehicle was southbound and a vehicle was pulling onto Washington Street from a business lot and did not see the southbound vehicle. Vehicles were driven from the scene and the vehicle driver entering onto Washington was cited for failing to yield.

6:59 p.m., Reported disturbance in 200 block of Polk Street, however, officers did not locate a disturbance.

7:07 p.m., Concerned person calling in reference kids playing in creek in the 1600 block of Fair Street. Officer surveyed the area and did not see any kids. Officer was requested to stop by and speak with the caller and advised them no crime or ordinance violation had been committed.

7:35 p.m., Officer checked a parking complaint received in the 100 block of Locust Street.

8:17 p.m., Officers responded to a reported domestic disturbance in the 600 block of Woodward. As a result of investigation, one of the parties was arrested for possession of marijuana, transported to the police department, where they were processed and then released on a citation.

10:14 p.m., Officers responded to the 300 block of Jackson Street where a parent was having obedience issues with their child. The juvenile left the residence against the parent’s wishes, officers located the juvenile and returned them to the parent.

On May 16, the Chillicothe Police Department received 113 calls for service.
