Happy Birthday, Mother!

“Mighty Mo” celebrated on stamp. The U.S. Postal Service is celebrating the USS Missouri (BB-63) with a Forever stamp. The famed battleship is being honored to coincide with the 75 th anniversary of its commissioning on June 11, 1944. On Sept. 2, 1945, military officials from Allied powers and Imperial Japan were on her deck and signed the documents confirming Japan’s surrender and ending World War II. Yes, the” Mighty Mo”. The new stamp will be dedicated in a ceremony at Pearl Harbor today.

How Wonderful!!! “Kelly Poling Arts District”—What a monumental part of Chillicothe now a days!! Yes, Kelly Poling has made and left a statement throughout Chillicothe that has brought happiness and pride to all that has had the honor to stop and study the amazing Art Kelly has place throughout our downtown village. The area of Locust Street, between Clay and Ann Streets, is now the “Kelly Poling Arts District”. The piano keyboard at Clay and the colorful abstract at Ann, yes quite the artistic flair.

First MGA Missouri Golf Association golf tournament of the summer. Hallie and Papa Bill head out for Mozingo course in Maryville, the day all the roads were closing because of the flooding waters. Hallie had a great day on the course, placing 3rd, their trip home was a bit more complicated, you can imagine, making memories. On to Sedalia Country Club with Dad and then with Ole Papa again to Cameron Country Club with a super round of golf, finishing in 1st place. Followed the golfing Jones team on Memorial Day with Papa, Dad, Harlie and Hallie, been doing it for years, what a special tradition!
