Press release for June 10, 2019

2:57 a.m., Report of someone tampering with a vehicle in the 400 block of Tenth Street. Officers responded to the area, but were unable to locate the reported suspect vehicle.

3:23 a.m. Report of someone tampering with a vehicle in the1300 block of Locust Street. Officers responded to the area, but again were unable to locate the suspect vehicle….

6:26 a.m., Officers checked the well-being of a subject that was walking down the roadway near the viaduct. Officers contacted the subject and removed him from the roadway.

8:00 a.m., Officers received a report of theft that occurred on June 9 at approximately 4:45 p.m. at a business in the 1000 block of Graves Street. A suspect has been identified and charges are pending.

8:00 a.m., Officers took a report of vandalism that occurred sometime in the early morning hours of June 9 from the 400 block of Locust Street to the 700 block of Locust Street. This investigation is on-going and video/photographs of the suspects have been obtained.

9:17am, Officer received a report of a scam involving the victim being tricked into sending money to receive more money. The police department wants to remind people that the majority of requests like this are false and remember if it sounds too good to be true, it’s probably a rip-off. Don’t do it!

10:05 a.m., Officers checked the well-being of a subject at Gravesville Park. The subject was asleep and okay.

10:19 a.m., Officers checked the well-being of a subject in the 1300 block of Burnam Road. Subject was found to be okay.

11:12 a.m., Officer recovered a baggie which contained a controlled substance that had been left at an establishment in the 200 block of West Business 36. The substance will be destroyed.

11:35 a.m., Officer spoke with a subject who had questions, in the lobby of the police department.

11:40 a.m., Officers received a report of theft that occurred on June 9 at approximately 9:30 a.m. at a business in the 1200 block of North Washington Street in Chillicothe.

11:46 a.m., Subject in the police department wanting to speak with an officer. Subjects questions and concerns were answered by officer.

1:38 p.m., Officer responded to the intersection of Washington and Webster Streets, to a two vehicle, non-injury traffic crash. One driver was issued a citation for following too closely.

3:00 p.m., Officer took a report of a lost or stolen firearm from a resident located in the 200 block of Virginia Avenue. This investigation continues.

3:58 p.m., Report of a C & I vehicle in the area of Burnam Road and on Locust Street. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

4:35pm, Reported disturbance at business in the 500 block of Mitchell Road, the suspect had left the scene prior to officer’s arrival.

6:48 p.m., Officers responded to the 200 block of Herriman Street, to assist Livingston County Deputies with the execution of a search warrant.

7:45 p.m., Officers responded to the 200 block of North Herriford Street in reference to a report of a domestic disturbance. Both parties separated and no arrests were made.

7:53 p.m., Report of four-wheelers going up and down alley in the 400 block of Cherry Street. They were located in the backyard of a residence in the 400 block of Walnut Street and advised to only operate them on private property.

9:32 p.m., Check the well-being of a subject in the 500 block of Orchard Street. Subject was distraught and taken to Hedrick Medical Center for treatment.

10:57 p.m., Officers responded to an address in the 100 block of St. Paul Street on a possible medical call. On arrival the subject was determined to be in need of treatment at Hedrick Medical Center for possible mental assistance.

On June 10, the Chillicothe Police Department received 126 calls for service.
