Press release for June 11, 2019

8:47 a.m., Officers recovered illegal drug paraphernalia from the street in the 500 block of Washington.

9:09 a.m., Officers monitored traffic near the South Junction for a reported C & I driver. The vehicle was located but was unoccupied.

9:40 a.m., Officers stood by at a residence in the 1200 block of Clay Street while some property was removed from a residence.

9:55 a.m., Officer assisted with the removal of bicycles from the property shed at the Street Department Warehouse to be refitted for underprivileged youth.

11:03 a.m., Officer received a report of the theft of a purse from a vehicle in the 1000 block of South Washington Street. Suspect has been identified and investigation is continuing.

12:07 p.m., Officer is continuing investigation into the recovery of a controlled substance that had been found at a location in the 200 block of West Business 36 Highway.

1:28 p.m., Officer was called to escort an individual off of property in the 200 block of West Business 36 Highway. Subject was removed from property.

3:03 p.m., Complaint of vehicle illegally parked in the 1300 block of Burnam Road. Vehicle was checked and parked legally.

4:16 p.m., Request from resident in the 1400 block of Clay Street in reference property having disappeared from residence. No report made at this time.

4:35 p.m., Possible protection order violation reported in the 100 block of East Herriman. The suspect was gone on officer’s arrival but a subject on scene reports they were assaulted, the investigation is continuing.

5:16 p.m., Officers responded to the 1200 block of Third Street in reference to a disturbance. It was determined to be a verbal disagreement and no arrests were made.

5:21 p.m., Report of a disturbance between two subjects in the 700 block of Elm Street. Officers were unable to locate the involved parties.

5:40 p.m., Property dispute in the 400 block of Polk Street. No report at this time.

7:12 p.m., Report of subject burning illegal items in a burn barrel in the 400 block of Dickinson Street. Subject advised to extinguish the fire.

7:26 p.m., Subject at the police department wanting to report property damage at a residence in the 800 block of Woodward. Investigation continuing. Possible civil issue.

9:07 p.m., Officers assisted emergency services with a vehicle fire in the 1200 block of Jackson Street.

9:45 p.m., Report of 11-year-old missing from house in the 400 block of Polk Street. Subject was located at a friend’s house and returned to their mother.

10:49 p.m., Report of loud crash in area of Tenth and Maple Street. Vehicle was found to have struck a telephone pole and then a tree and turned on its side. The driver was discovered to be a 13-year-old female who was taken by emergency services for treatment at Hedrick Medical Center.

11:24 p.m., Report of possible fight at basketball court of Danner Park. Officers located no fight and advised the parties that were present of the closing time of the courts. The parties left the area.

On June 11, the Chillicothe Police Department received 120 calls for service.
