Summers Are The Best!!
Our sincere Apology—omitted from our column last week. “Mighty Mo” celebrated on stamp. The U. S. Postal Service is celebrating the USS Missouri (BB-63) with a Forever stamp. The famed battleship was honored to coincide with the 75 th anniversary of its commissioning on June 11, 1944. On Sept. 2, 1945, military officials from Allied powers and Imperial Japan were on her deck and signed the documents confirming Japan’s surrender and ending World War II. Yes, the “Mighty Mo”. The new stamp was dedicated in a ceremony at Pearl Harbor last Tuesday, June 11.
