2:06 a.m.,Officer located an open door on a business in the 1000 block of Waples Street. Owner was contacted and came to the scene, then the building was checked and found okay,

2:58 a.m., Commercial business alarm in the 300 block of Washington Street. Building checked and found okay. Unknown cause of alarm activation.

9:04 a.m., Report of a suspicious acting subject in the area of Third and Vine Streets. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the subject.

9:45 a.m., Report of suspicious subject in the 100 block of Ryan Lane, however, officers were unable to locate anyone.

1:16 p.m., Officers assisted emergency services in the 1200 block of Locust Street, with a vehicle fire. The fire was extinguished, with no injuries to personnel.

10:06 p.m., Suspicious activity at a residence in the 1500 block of Locust Street. Activity was checked by officers and determined to be okay.

10:20 p.m., Suspicious person reported in the 1000 block of Maple Street, standing in the yard, the Caller reported the subject was walking from reported location. Officers located an individual and checked what they were doing in the area. Subject advised the officer that it wasn’t him that the call was made on and they were allowed to leave.

On June 17, the Chillicothe Police Department received 79 calls for service.

1:48 a.m., Officers checked on a male sitting in a vehicle outside a business in the 200 block of Washington Street.

8:46 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a report of theft from a business in the 1200 block of Washington Street. The investigation is ongoing.

10:27 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a report of a parked vehicle blocking an alley in the 1000 block of Webster Street. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and the vehicle moved.

12:46 p.m., Officers assisted a stranded motorist at the junction of US 36 and US 65 Hwy.

1:36 p.m., Officers were notified of a possible animal abuse/neglect in the area of Olive and Graves Streets. Officers reported that no animal abuse/neglect had transpired.

2:11 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a report of a possible violation of an order of protection in the 1400 block of Maple St. Officers determined that no violation had occurred.

2:49 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a report of stealing from a business in the 1000 block of Graves Street. The investigation is ongoing.

5:33 p.m, Officers were dispatched to a report of possible child abuse/neglect that had occurred in another jurisdiction. The complainant was referred to the other jurisdiction.

6:12 p.m., Officers were dispatched to assist a Livingston County Deputy on a traffic stop on US 36 Hwy near LIV 431.

7:28 p.m., Officers assisted a Livingston County Deputy on a traffic enforcement stop at the intersection of Clay and Washington Street.

6:18 p.m., Officers responded to the Junction of US 36 and US 65 in reference to attempt to locate a vehicle that had reportedly struck a yield sign on US 36. The vehicle was not located.

8:01 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a report of a resident seeing an unidentified black male walking out of her detached garage in the 200 block of Samuel Street. Officers located the male hiding behind a business in the 10 block of Hickory Street. Officers contacted the male who immediately advised officers that he was in the lady’s garage looking for someone and it was a misunderstanding. The male initially provided false information about his identity to officers. Officers discovered the male to be in possession of a controlled substance. The male was placed in handcuffs behind his back. As officers were escorting the male to the patrol vehicle, the male broke free from the officer and took off running. The male was captured after a short foot chase. Officers transported the male to the police department and located the suspect’s identification. Officers found that the suspect identified as Shaun Sese was to be considered armed and dangerous and had outstanding warrants from Jackson County for burglary and probation violation. Sese was processed and transferred to the Daviess DeKalb Regional Jail by an officer. Sese is being held on the Jackson County warrants and local charges of felony possession of a controlled substance, attempted escape from custody and false impersonation. Officers were assisted in the investigation by Livingston County Deputy Leadbetter and K9 Zaki.

9:31 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a report of a careless driver in the 900 block of Webster Street. Officers were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

10:31 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a report of suspicious activity in the area of Jackson and Vine Street. Officers were unable to locate any suspicious activity in the area.

On June 16, the Chillicothe Police Department responded to 79 cals for service.

12:06 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a report of a dog running at large in the 1100 block of Webster Street.

12:35 a.m., Officers were dispatched to an alley in the 800 block of Elm Street in reference to a mini-bike that had been reported stolen earlier. It was located and returned to the owner.

2:40 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a report of a loud party in the 1200 block of Locust Street that was disturbing the peace of a neighbor. Charges are pending for peace disturbance.

8:20 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a report of dogs barking all night at a residence in the 900 block of Fairlane. Officers contacted the responsible person and the issue was resolved.

8:43 a.m., Officers arrested Nathan P. Hutchinson in the 1100 block of Broadway on a probation/parole warrant. Hutchinson was transferred to the Daviess DeKalb Regional Jail by a CPD Officer.

9:59 a.m., Independence Police Department arrested Steven R. McCann on two Chillicothe Municipal Warrants for failure to appear in court. McCann was unable to post bond and a CPD Officer responded to Independence to extradite McCann to the Daviess DeKalb Regional Jail.

12:02 p.m., Officers assisted a stranded motorist at the jct. of US 36 and US 65 Highways.

12:25 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a report of three dogs left in a vehicle at a business in the 500 block of S. Washington Street. It was reported that the vehicle left the area before officers arrived.

3:31 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a report of a vehicle leaving a business in the 600 block of Business 36 Hwy without paying for fuel. The incident remains under investigation.

4:10 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a report of a snapping turtle that had been caught at a business in the 500 block of S. Washington Street. The local conservation agent was contacted and delivered the turtle to a rural area.

4:31 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Williams Street in reference to two 911 hang-up calls. Officers reported that children were playing with a phone and no emergency existed.

5:51 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a report of four dogs in a vehicle that was parked at a business in the 1000 block of Graves Street. Officers located the vehicle and found that all four of the windows were opened far enough that the dogs were in no danger.

7:36 p.m., Officers served a Daviess County notice of hearing for an ex-parte order of protection to a person in the 1000 block of Graves Street.

8:31p.m., Officers spoke with a resident in the 400 block of Wise Street in reference to a stolen item. The resident did not wish to make a formal report at this time.

10:14 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a report of loud music in the 200 block of Williams Street.

10:17 p.m., Officers picked up a small older male tan Chihuahua in the 1300 block of Easton Street. The dog has a current rabies tag and City License however the officers are close to attempt to identify the owner. There is a picture of this little guy on the CPD Facebook page. Anyone who knows this dog please contact the PD so he can be returned home.

2:10 a.m., Officers checked on a vehicle stopped on the shoulder of Washington Street near Park Lane. Was a motorist who pulled over to use his phone.

3:30 a.m., Officers recovered a wallet that was found in the 1000 block of International Rd.

8:43 a.m., Officers returned recovered property to its owner.

9:48 a.m., Officers fingerprinted two people at the request of the court.

10:25 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a report of a dog at large in the 1100 block of Monroe St. Officers were unable to locate the dog.

11:00 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a 911 hang up in the 1100 block of Grandview. Officers located children who were playing with a phone and inadvertently dialed 911.

11:36 a.m., Officers spoke to a resident in reference to a threat that was received on social media.

4:17 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a report of a possible fraud in the 900 block of Webster St.

6:07 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a business in the 1000 block of Graves Street in reference to a report of a suspicious person. Officers contacted the person and found that there was no criminal activity and the person was not in need of assistance.

6:37 p.m., Officers assisted Livingston County Sheriff Deputies in the service of a search warrant in the 400 block of Monroe Street.

8:09 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a 911 hang up call that mapped in the 800 block of Walnut Street. Officers were unable to locate anyone that was in need of assistance.

11:48 p.m., Officers were dispatched to check the well-being of a resident who was reported to be laying on the ground in his backyard in the 1500 block of Webster Street. Officers found the male who reported that he was attempting to let his dog in when he fell and was unable to get up. Officers contacted EMS and the male was checked out, then assisted back into his residence.

On June 14, the Chillicothe Police Department responded to 86 calls for service.
