At about 12:21 p.m., Wednesday, officers from the Chillicothe Police Department, responders from the Chillicothe Department of Emergency Services and crews from the Chillicothe Fire Department responded to a one-vehicle rollover accident on Highway 36 at Blackwell Creek.
Lora Thompson of Niles, Michigan, was driving a late model Chrysler, westbound on Highway 36 and lost control of the vehicle after hydroplaning on the roadway. The vehicle traveled off the south side of the roadway and struck a guardrail, which caused the vehicle to overturn. Thompson was extricated from the vehicle by the Chillicothe Fire Department using a hydraulic spreader, according to a press release, and transported to Hedrick Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
