Press release for June 20, 2019
12:24 a.m., Officer transported a subject that was arrested on a Caldwell County warrant to Caldwell County Jail.
12:55 a.m., Officer observed a suspicious acting subject in the 200 block of Jackson Street that took off running from officer. Officers were unable to locate the subject.
2:15 a.m., Officer checked on a vehicle that was parked at Clay Street Park. The vehicle was found to be unoccupied.
4:49 a.m., Commercial business alarm in the 500 block of Park Lane, the building checked and was secure.
7:34 a.m., Officers checked a parking complaint in the 400 block of Calhoun Street. Several vehicles were found to be in violation and the resident was given warning and time to correct the violations.
11:00 a.m., Officer travelled to another jurisdiction to assist in the execution of a search warrant.
11:51 a.m., Officers responded to Polk St. and Washington St. in reference to a motor vehicle crash. Vehicle 1 was approaching vehicle 2, which was stopped at the intersection when Vehicle 1 collided into the rear of Vehicle 2. It was determined Vehicle 1 was distracted by a phone call which caused Vehicle 1 to collide with Vehicle 2. Ambulance was not called and both vehicles were driven away from the scene.
12:13 p.m., Officer checked the area of Williams and Olive Streets for a complaint of dogs running loose and getting into trash. Officers unable to locate dogs.
2:06 p.m., Complaint of dog running loose in the 1200 block of Cooper Street. Officers unable to locate the dog.
2:15 p.m., Officer responded to a business in the 1000 block of Graves Street in reference to a reported stealing. The investigation is continuing.
2:45 p.m., Parking complaint in the area of Calhoun and Dickinson Streets. Subject was given a warning for a violation.
3:17 p.m., Report of children riding tricycles into the roadway in the 1500 block of Calhoun Street. Officer was unable to locate any children in the area.
3:46 p.m., Officer checked a traffic collision at a business in the 600 block of West Business 36. Drivers exchange information between themselves and no report was taken.
4:45 p.m., Officers checked on a business in the 600 block of Elm Street that was found unlocked and unattended, everything checked out okay and building was secured.
5:22 p.m., Officers checked well-being of subject in the 1000 block of Frederick Street. Subject was okay.
5:46 p.m., At the request of another agency, officers checked the well-being of subjects in the 200 block of E. Third Street. They were okay.
6:08 p.m., Officer performed a motorist assist for subjects that had ran out of fuel at Washington and Leeper Streets.
6:13 p.m., Officers assisted Children’s Division on an investigation in the 500 block of W. Mohawk. No report at this time.
6:40 p.m., Officer received a report of a stolen firearm in the 500 block of St. Louis Street. Complainant states that a 22 cal. pistol was taken.
9:30 p.m., Officers assisted emergency services on a medical call where a subject had fell and struck their head. Subject was transported to Hedrick Medical Center for treatment.
9:46 p.m., Officers spoke with residents in the 200 block of Bridge Street about disciplining the neighborhood kids.
10:37 p.m., Complaint from 400 block of Polk Street in reference loud noises coming from upstairs resident. Officers spoke with tenant and advised of complaint. Officers were called back to the same location in reference to continuing noise, Information was obtained and will be sent to prosecuting attorney for charges.
10:52 p.m., Officers responded to the area of the 1300 block of Miller Street in reference a subject had apprehended two dogs running loose, that she believed to belong to her neighbors. Neighbors were contacted and advised that they had been trying to locate the animals after they had escaped their kennel that morning, the dogs were returned.
On June 20, the Chillicothe Police Department received 105 calls for service.
