Earlier this year the Livingston County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) received the Traffic Enforcement/Safety Grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT). According to Sheriff Steve Cox, Special Hometown Traffic Enforcement projects from the LCSO took place on June 16 and June 18, and those special enforcements were paid for by Traffic Enforcement/Safety Grant.

Officers were assigned to look for aggressive or careless drivers, significant speeding and drugged or drunk driving. Many stops were made and numerous warnings given. The following are the citations issued:

June 16:

A Springfield, Mo., driver was cited for going 80 mph in a 65 mph zone on U.S. 36 at Mooresville.

A Chillicothe driver was cited for failing to register a motor vehicle annually; operating motorcycle without endorsement and failing to wear approved headgear.

An Illinois driver was cited for going 86 mph in a 65 mph zone on U.S. 36 near Utica.

An Illinois driver was cited for going 83 mph in a 65 mph zone on U.S. 36 near Utica.

A Laclede driver was cited for traveling 83 mph in a 65 mph zone on U.S. 36 at LIV 413.

A Parkville, Mo., driver was cited for going 82 mph in a 65 mph zone on U.S. 36 near Utica.

A Weston, Mo., driver was cited for traveling 83 mph in a 65 mph zone on U.S. 36 at LIV 249.

A Kansas City driver was cited for going 83 mph in a 65 mph zone on U.S. 36 near Mooresville.

A Chillicothe driver was cited for driving while suspended/revoked 1st offense on U.S. 65.

A Richmond, Mo., driver was cited for going 82 mph in a 65 mph zone on U.S. 36 at LIV 261.

A Topeka, Kan., driver was cited for going 80 mph in a 65 mph zone on U.S. 36 at LIV 259.

A Chicago driver was cited for going 82 mph in a 65 mph zone on U.S. 36 at LIV 259.

June 18:

An Urbana, Ill., driver was cited for traveling 78 mph in a 65 mph zone on U.S. 36 at LIV 259.

A St. Louis driver was cited for going 80 mph in a 65 mph zone on U.S. 36 at Highway D.

A St. Marys, Kan, driver was cited for going 82 mph in a 65 mph zone on U.S. 36 near Mooresville.

A New London, Mo., driver was cited for going 82 mph in a 65 mph zone on U.S. 36 near Mooresville.
