Press release for June 23, 2019

12:20 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a commercial burglar alarm in the 800 block of S. Washington Street. Officers discovered it was a false alarm.

1:08 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a barking dog complaint in the 400 block of Webster Street. Officers attempted but were unable to contact the possible dog

owner.

3:41 a.m., Officers arrested Jered Drew Williams on active warrants out of Chillicothe for traffic violations in the area of Woodward Street and Webster Street. Williams was processed at the police department, but was unable to post the required $400 bond and was transported to the Daviess-DeKalb County Regional Jail.

5:15 a.m., Communications received a call of an animal complaint, the animal control officer was notified.

5:29 a.m., Officers conducted a prisoner transport to Daviess-DeKalb County Regional Jail from the earlier warrant.

7:00 a.m., Officers conducted follow-up on an investigation in the 2600 block of N. Washington Street.

9:30 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a parking violation in the 400 block of Calhoun Street. Officers were advised the vehicle had been moved.

9:42 a.m., Communications received a call from a citizen who locked their keys in their vehicle. They were provided a number for assistance.

11:19 a.m., Communications received a call of a dog running-at-large in the area of Polk Street. and N. Washington Street. Animal control was notified.

2:21 p.m., Officers were dispatched to solicitors (panhandlers) in the 300 block of N. Washington Street. Officers made contact and advised them to cease.

3:21 p.m., Officers were dispatched to two dogs running-at-large in the area of N. Washington Street. and MO 190 Hwy.

3:43 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a two vehicle non-injury traffic crash in the 900 block of Dickinson Avenue. Minor damage was reported.

4:50 p.m., Officers assisted medical services on a medical call in the 400 block of Wise Street.

5:27 p.m., Officers were dispatched to an animal complaint in the 400 block of Webster Street. The information was forwarded to the animal control officer.

6:04 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a possible wanted person in the 1200 block of N. Washington Street. Officers discovered the person was wanted out of another jurisdiction but was not within the extradition limits.

7:38 p.m., Officers took a report of property damage in the 900 block of Dickinson Avenue. The investigation is ongoing.

7:56 p.m., Officers checked on a possible motor vehicle fire on U.S. 36 Hwy. and U.S. 65 Hwy. Officers discovered the vehicle was not on fire.

8:45 p.m., Officers arrested Dakota Braxton Marks for exceeding the posted speed limit, operating a motor vehicle while driver’s license suspended, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop on Second Street. at N. Washington Street. Marks was processed at the police department and released pending a court appearance.

9:14 p.m., Officers were dispatched to suspicious activity in the 500 block of S. Washington Street. Officers did not discover any suspicious activity.

11:57 p.m., Officers assisted another law enforcement agency on a traffic stop at Jackson Street. and N. Washington Street.

12:16 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 500 block of Street. Louis Avenue. The incident was determined to be verbal and one person left the scene. Officers arrested Richelle Marie Slayton on an active arrest warrant out of Platte County. She was processed at the police department, posted bond and was released.

2:54 a.m., Officers conducted a transport to a medical facility for mental health evaluation.

8:29 a.m., Officers conducted an escort for a fundraising event for Special Olympics.

9:12 a.m., Officers spoke with a citizen about a complaint of loud motorcycles from the fundraising event.

1:35 a.m., Officers assisted animal control with removing a dog from the 600 block of Williams Street.

11:39 a.m., Officers recovered an abandoned bicycle in the 800 block of Broadway Street.

11:54 a.m., Officers were dispatched to possible animal neglect in the area of Williams Street. and Olive Street.

12:13 p.m., Officers conducted follow-up on an investigation in the 1000 block of Graves Street.

3:54 p.m., Officers conducted another escort for the fundraising event.

3:55 p.m., Officers were dispatched to possible suspicious activity in the area of Chilli Bay Water Park. Officers were unable to locate the suspicious activity.

4:26 p.m., Officers were dispatched to possible suspicious activity in the 1000 block of Graves Street. Officers did not discover anything suspicious.

4:33 p.m., Officers checked on a possible stranded motorist in the 400 block of Walnut Street.

4:40 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a loud music complaint coming from Shaffer Park Mudcats game.

5:42 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a possible disturbance in the 500 block of Street. Louis Avenue. Officers did not discover a disturbance.

9:55 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a possible wanted person in the 1000 block of Graves Street. The person did not have any active warrants at that time and was issued a notice of trespass.

6:30 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a loud music complaint in the 900 block of Frederick Street. The person agreed to turn down the music.

7:08 p.m., Officers assisted a possible stranded motorist in the area of N. Washington Street. and Fairway Drive.

7:26 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a possible parking violation in

the area of Frederick Street. and Samuel Street. Officers did not observe any violations.

7:33 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a commercial burglar alarm in the 400 block of S. Washington Street. Officers discovered it was a false alarm.

9:05 p.m., Officers arrested Angelica Jimenez and Jesus Eduardo Espina Olazabal in the 1000 block of Graves Street. for shoplifting. Both subjects were transported to the police department where they were processed and released with a court date.

2:17 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of Mansur Street. The incident was determined to be verbal and one person left the residence.

2:23 a.m., Officers assisted a citizen in the 2700 block of N. Washington Street.

3:54 a.m., Officers contacted individuals at Shaffer Park. Officers advised the citizens of park hours.

4:33 a.m., Officers were dispatched to an alarm in the 900 block of Birch Dr. Officers discovered it was a false alarm.

6:44 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a report of littering in the 700 block of Elm Street. The investigation is ongoing.

7:30 a.m., Officers took a report of a two vehicle non-injury traffic crash in the 1700 block of Borden Street.

8:04 a.m., Officers removed a tree limb from the Street at Third Street. And Cherry Street.

8:09 a.m., Officers removed a tree limb from the Street at Jackson Street. and Dickinson Avenue.

8:11 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a possible malfunctioning traffic light at Polk Street. and N. Washington Street.

8:14 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a traffic sign which had been struck at Third Street and Calhoun Street.

8:35 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a possible tree down on a residence at Dickinson Avenue and Clay Street. Officers were unable to make contact with anyone at the residence and no one appeared to be in distress.

8:38 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a possible sex offense involving a child in the 500 block of W. Bus. 36 Hwy. The investigation is ongoing.

8:45 a.m., Officers were at the courthouse for a court detail.

8:48 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a power line down over the Street in the area of Clay Street. and Peacher Street.

8:55 a.m., Officers checked the traffic lights at N. Washington Street and Polk Street. The lights appeared to be functioning normally.

9:48 a.m., Officers spoke with animal control at the Police Department about an animal complaint.

11:02 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a possible animal neglect in the 1100 block of Jackson Street. The incident was resolved by Officers.

11:23 a.m., Officers removed a tree limb from the street at Locust Street. and J.F.K. Avenue.

12:16 p.m., Officers spoke with a citizen about a possible fraud at the police department.

12:27 p.m., Officers took a report of a stolen vehicle in the 1500 block of Calhoun Street. The vehicle is described as a silver 2012 Chevrolet Camaro.

1:38 p.m.,onducted follow-up on an investigation in the 700 block of S. Washington Street.

2:35 p.m., Officers spoke with residents in reference to eviction process in the 200 block of Gale Street.

2:35 p.m., Officers responded to a call for assistance by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office for a resistive person in the 500 block of W. Bus. 36 Hwy. While Officers were enroute, they were advised the person had been taken into custody

and could disregard their response.

2:49 p.m., Officers arrested Ashlee Raelyne Mast for trespassing in the 900 block of Webster Street. Mast was processed at the police department and released pending a court appearance.

3:09 p.m., Officers conducted follow-up on an investigation in the 1000 block of Graves Street.

3:47 p.m., the police department received a fire alarm call in the 900 block of Birch Dr. The business contacted the police department about the alarm and were working on it. There was no emergency.

5:00 p.m., Officers took a delayed crash report at the police6:18 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a dog in the parking lot of a

business growling at customers in the 200 block of N. Washington Street. Communications

attempted to contact the animal control officer numerous times without success. Officers

were assisted at the scene by a young citizen who was able to get close to the dog and

Offices then transported it to the animal shelter. Officers would like to thank this citizen

for their assistance!

6:28 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a dog running-at-large in the 1200 block of N. Washington Street. The dog returned to its residence.

6:33 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a suspicious person on U.S. 36 Hwy. near MO CC Hwy. Officers were advised the person was no longer in the area.

8:09 p.m., Officers removed a tree limb from the Street. in the 2100 block of Country Club Dr.

8:51 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a possible stolen vehicle in the

500 block of Mohawk Rd. The incident was determined to be verbal in nature.

9:25 p.m., Officers took a report of a dog bite in the 2700 block of N. Washington Street.

9:34 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a possible domestic disturbance in the area of Jackson Street. and Commercial Street. Officers discovered there was no disturbance. The individuals were watching a T.V. show and were really excited about it.

9:43 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a well-being check in the 500 block of Mohawk Road. Officers located the person, who was transported to the hospital for treatment and evaluation.

10:58 p.m., Communications received a fire alarm call in the 900 block of Birch Drive. There was no emergency.

11:15 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a business alarm in the 800 block of Webster Street. Officers discovered it was a false alarm.

11:16 p.m., Officers were dispatched to possible suspicious activity in the 500 block of Street. Louis Avenue. Officers did not observe anything suspicious.

11:34 p.m., Officers conducted a well-being check in the 1200 block of Monroe Street. The person was found to be okay.

Due to the stormy weather, Officers responded to and removed several tree limbs from

the streets, going beyond their normal patrol duties.
