Press release for June 24, 2019

2:24 a.m., Report of suspicious person on parking lot in the 2700 block of N. Washington Street. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

2:55 a.m., Officers checked on a vehicle in a parking lot in the 600 block of West Business 36. Travelers resting in car.

4:24 a.m., Call of disturbance in the 400 block of Polk Street. Officers checked the scene and were unable to contact anyone.

5:00 a.m., Request to patrol in specific area where a subject keeps driving by. Officer was unable to locate the subject of the complaint.

5:36 a.m., Officers responded to the 800 block of Walnut Street, regarding information of a subject with an active warrant. Officers arrested a subject on an active Clay County warrant. They were transported to the Chillicothe Police Department and processed and was Clay County notified.

8:11 a.m., Officers responded to Danner Park for a report of theft from a maintenance shed. No suspects have been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

9:01 a.m., Officer received a report of several traffic signs being stolen from different locations within the City. Investigation continuing.

11:12 a.m., Officers responded to the 1200 block of Washington Street for a report of counterfeit money being used. Officers are investigating and have a subject of interest with whom they are attempting to make contact.

11:33 a.m., Complaint of vehicles that were left parked on property in the 1600 block of Bryan Street. Owners contacted and vehicles moved.

1:39 p.m., Report of unattended children in the 1100 block of Walnut Street. Children and parent located. Reported that children got out of the door without parents knowledge.

3:59 p.m., Report of kids in the 300 block of Third Street with water guns, shooting at cars. Officers were unable to locate the reported violators.

6:18 p.m., Officers reported to Shafer Park in response to equipment being stolen from the concession stand/announcer booth the investigation is continuing.

7:19 p.m., Officer out with a motorist in the 1200 block of N. Washington that had struck a dog in the roadway. Animal control took control of the dog.

8:06 p.m., Officers assisted emergency services with a medical call at Shafer Park.

10:51 p.m., Officers were out on a continuing investigation in the 1200 block of North Washington Street. Subject of the investigation was not found at this time.

11:41 p.m., Officers out at the 1200 block of N. Washington Street making contact with subject of investigation. The subject was transported to the police department where they were questioned and released.

On June 24, the Chillicothe Police Department received 85 calls for service.
