To Whom It May Concern:

Greetings!

My name is Dalton Ripley. I am working on my Eagle Scout project, the final step to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. An Eagle Scout project requires the Boy Scout to plan a project, recruit volunteers, acquire materials and act as the foreman of the project.

The project I have selected is placing a granite bench near the Veterans Memorial on the south lawn of the Livingston County Courthouse Plaza. There is currently is no seating available on this area. The bench will be a tribute to our nation’s veterans. Through collaboration with members of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the decision was made to engrave, “All gave some, Some gave all,” on the bench.

The bench will be a permanent and continuous reminder of the sacrifices made by the men and women who have served our country to protect our freedoms.

I selected this project as a token of my appreciation of our nation’s military veterans. As a Boy Scout, I placed flags at the graves of veterans in observance of Memorial Day, helped serve meals during Veterans Day events and other occasions, delivered Christmas cards to veterans and participated in other activities honoring veterans. In 2017, I had the honor of placing a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.

This veterans bench project has been approved by the Livingston County Commission and supported by the local American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

In order to make this project a reality, I am asking for financial support from any person, club, organization or business to help with the cost of the bench, sandblasting, site work and installation. Any donation amount will be appreciated and will held me complete the project. The goal is to have the bench in place this summer.

Donation may be mailed to: Dalton Ripley, 12276 LIV 222, Chillicothe MO 64601. Checks should be made payable to Livingston County.

Your support will be appreciated. Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to make arrangements for me to pick-up your donation, or if you would like for me to make a short presentation to your club, group or organization. You may leave a message at 660-973-0808, or email me at ripley@greenhills.net.

Sincerely,

Dalton Ripley
