Press release for July 15, 2019
12:01 a.m., Officers were called to a business in the 400 block of South Washington Street about there being a young child there, unattended. Officers were able to determine who the child was and contacted the parents. The child had been left in the care of others and the child was able to open the door and leave the residence without the caretakers knowing. The child had traveled from the 200 block of Herriford Street. A report is being forwarded to Children’s Services.
12:13 a.m., Subject was at the police department to speak with an officer in reference to a landlord/tenant issue.
12:50 a.m., Report of someone knocking on the door in the 300 block of Webster Street. Would like an officer to check on it, was determined it was a neighbor and everything was okay.
1:37 a.m., Domestic disturbance in the 400 block of Williams Street, involving several impaired participants, no cooperation and different stories on what the incident involved. No arrests and parties advised to make a report at a later time.
4:20 a.m., Officers called to Hedrick Medical Center for a reported assault victim. The subject was intoxicated and unresponsive and the husband advised when awake and sober, they could come to the police department for a report.
4:37 a.m., Report of a car alarm in the 900 block of Vine Street. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate anything.
6:29 a.m., A subject came to the police department and turned himself in on a municipal warrant. The subject was transported to Daviess-DeKalb County Regional Jail in lieu of bond.
12:20 p.m., Premises checked after report of business doors open in the 1100 block of North Washington Street. All was okay employees there.
1:09 p.m., Officer performed a motorist assist at Park Lane and Burnam Road.
1:54 p.m., Report of a C & I vehicle that was eastbound on US 36 from near Utica. The vehicle was observed coming into Chillicothe and observed by officers. No irregular driving was observed.
3:57 p.m., Report of kids trying to climb on a doorway overhang at Central School. Officer checked and kids were trying to retrieve their playground ball.
5:53 p.m., Officer reported to Danner Park where damage to windows was inflicted by subject striking golf balls. Solution worked out by parties involved.
6:26 p.m., Reported possible break-in in the 600 block of Webster Street. Suspects were contacted nearby and the building owner checked the building and deemed it was secure the incident was unfounded.
8:50 p.m., Civil stand-by in the 1200 block of Clay Street while ex-roommate obtained belongings.
10:44 p.m., Domestic disturbance in the 400 block of Webster Street, was determined to be verbal and no arrests were made.
11:45 p.m., Report of a fight between brothers in 400 block of Polk Street. Determined to be nothing physical, only yelling at each other and mother. No arrests made.
On July 15, the Chillicothe Police Department received 97 calls for service.
