A natural cover fire involving driftwood and debris from the recent floods lead to a response from the Chillicothe Fire Department (CFD) at about 1:49 a.m., Friday, to Beetmas Farms at LIV 235 and Highway 36, according to CFD Captain and EMT Tracy Bradley.

The Chillicothe Fire Department reports their dispatch received a call from the Chillicothe Police Department seeking assistance with a natural fire that had spread.

"Upon arrival, we found driftwood & debris from the recent floods on fire and had spread to the edge of the grass," Bradley said. "We used a booster line and extinguished the flames using 250 gallons of water."

Firefighters left the scene after extinguishing the fire and asking CPD to notify the owner to stay with the fire.
