2:00 a.m., Officer conducted a traffic stop at Washington and Ryan Lane. The driver was issued a warning for defective equipment.
2:06 a.m., Officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of Elm Street for a suicidal subject with a gun to his head. Officers contacted the subject, who was talked into laying down the firearm, and the subject was taken into protective custody and was transported to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation. The firearm was seized from the resident, who was cooperative during this incident.
10:45 a.m., Officer conducted funeral escort for a local funeral home.
11:31 a.m., Officer received a report of computer fraud in the 1500 block of Maples Street. Investigation continues.
1:11 p.m., Officers responded to a two-vehicle injury accident at Clay and Dickinson. A male on a motorcycle failed to yield causing a collision. The male was treated at the scene and refused further treatment. He was cited for failing to yield. The other driver was uninjured.
1:55 p.m., Officer called to a two-vehicle non-injury accident in a parking lot in the 2700 block of North Washington Street. The drivers exchanged information.
3:04 p.m., Officer attempted a warrant serviced in the 1100 block of Walnut Street. The subject was not located.
3:52 p.m., Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of South Washington Street. The driver was issued a warning for expired registration.
4:47 p.m., Officer responded to an animal complaint in the 400 block of Samuel. No violations were observed.
5:51 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop at Jackson and Locust Streets after observing an occupant of the vehicle to have felony warrants. The occupant exited the vehicle and fled on foot a short distance, but was apprehended by officers without further incident. The female, Slade Spencer, was arrested on a Livingston County warrant for failing to appear on charges of delivery of a controlled substance and a Carroll County warrant for failing to appear on charges of burglary and theft. Methamphetamine was also seized. Spencer was processed at the police department and transferred to the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail. A report is being forwarded to the Livingston County Prosecutor for subsequent charges of possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest. Officers were assisted by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department.
6:19 p.m., Officers spoke to a subject about harassment in the 600 block of Walnut Street.
6:32 p.m., Officer called for residence check in the 1600 block of Webster. The residence was found to safe.
7:09 p.m., Officer received a parking complaint in the 1100 block of Calhoun. The vehicle was gone upon arrival.
8:17 p.m., Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of business 36. The driver was cited for failing to register a motor vehicle, expired registration and no insurance.
9:38 p.m., Officer called for a parking complaint in the 600 block of Williams. No parking violations were observed.
10:04 p.m., Officer conducted a traffic stop at Jackson and Elm. The driver was issued a warning for defective equipment.
10:13 p.m., Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 10 block of South Washington Street. The driver, Jerry Hansen, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without a license. He was processed at the police department, cited and released.
On July 18, the Chillicothe Police Department responded to 69 calls for service.
