Press release for July 27, 2019

12:06 a.m., Officer performed a well-being check on a subject in the 1100 block of Calhoun Street.

1:43 a.m., Report of someone on the roof of the businesses in the 400 block of N. Washington Street. Officers checked and located four subjects that ran from officers and jumped off the south end of the buildings onto the sidewalk below, one of the subjects was apprehended by an officer, transported to the police department, processed and released to their parents. The investigation is continuing.

2:05 a.m., Request from another agency to check on an officer that they had no radio contact with, the subject was located and was okay.

3:16 a.m., Request to check on a vehicle with doors open on the parking lot in the 500 block of West Mohawk and no one around, people were located in truck upon officer's arrival.

9:09 a.m., Officer performed a paper service in the 100 block of North Herriford Street.

10:30 a.m., Officer at police department taking a report of an assault in the 100 block of N. Washington Street that occurred on a previous date. Statements were received and will be provided to the prosecutor for consideration of charges.

2:16 p.m., Officer at the police department to assist another agency with a prisoner transport'

2:39 p.m., Report of a possible domestic disturbance near US 65 and the Eastbound US 36 off-ramp. Officers were not able to locate the involved parties.

3:27 p.m., Report of suspicious acting female at a business in the 600 block of West Business US 36 Highway. The subject was trespassed from property.

3:42 p.m., Officers assisted Livingston County Deputy on a warrant arrest on South US 65. The subject was wanted on Chariton County warrants.

3:59 p.m., Report of suspicious activity in the 1000 block of Webster Street. A subject was seen removing a package from front of a residence. It was determined to be okay, the subject had been asked to pick up the package.

4:44 p.m., Report of kids arguing in the 700 block of Elm Street. Officers contacted them and spoke with them and their parents.

6:21 p.m., Officers took a report of a juvenile being sexually assaulted. Officers have identified a suspect and are continuing to investigate.

7:58 p.m., Officers reported to a business in the 1000 block of South Washington reference a suspicious acting person. The subject was requested to leave the premises and refused to do so, leading to their arrest for trespassing. The subject was transported to the police department for processing and transported to Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail.

8:08 p.m., Officers responded to a business on East US-36 in reference someone loading equipment up at that time. Contact made with business representative and was advised that it was okay that the people were there.

9:30 p.m., Report of suspicious activity in the 1100 block of Sunset Avenue.

10:03 p.m., Officer spoke on the phone to an individual about possible violation of a protection order.

10:38 p.m., Call from subject reporting suspicious vehicle parked in the area of Clay and Locust Street. Officer located a vehicle in the area, but there was no one anywhere around it.

10:44 p.m., Try to contact subjects in the 100 block of Polk Street to deliver a message about family emergency. Message delivered.

On July 27, the Chillicothe Police Department received 71 calls for service.
