Press release for August 12, 2019

12:07 a.m. Business alarm in the 2600 block of Washington Street. Unknown cause of activation. 

1:04 a.m. Disturbance at 500 block of St. Louis Street. People outside of residence wanting subject to come out and talk. Handled by officers.

2:53 a.m. Officers observed an open door in the alleyway in 500 block of Locust Street. So officers checked and secured the building.

4:03 a.m. Complaint of dogs barking in the 600 block of Sunset. Unable to make contact with owner at this time, will contact later.

5:58 a.m. Report of stolen medication from the 1500 block of Morningside Drive, the investigation is continuing. 

6:28 a.m. Officers responded to the 500 block of Saint Louis Street, regarding a property damage report. Officers were advised of damage to a vehicle and advised of possible suspects. Investigation continuing. 

5:06 p.m., Report of a dog running loose in the 2000 block of Timberlane. The dog was brought to the police department and the owner was notified. They came to the police department and picked up the dog. 

6:36 p.m., Officers checked on a dog in parked vehicle in the 1000 block of Graves Street. The dog was okay.

7:26 p.m., Complaint of a dog running loose in the 900 block of Elm Street. Officers unable to catch the dog.  

8:44 p.m., Call from 1000 block of Graves Street in reference to kids acting in a dangerous fashion by walking on the wrong side of a retaining wall railing Officers were unable to locate anyone.

8:50 p.m., Officer returned a call to a subject that requested information on the company that is doing the road work on Washington Street.

8:54 p.m., Officers assisted Emergency Services on a medical call in the 200 block of Bridge Street. The male subject was transported to Hedrick Medical Center for treatment where the subject became threatening and violent to officers and staff. H was then restrained and the subject's female acquaintance then interfered and was also taken into custody. The subjects were both transported to Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail in lieu of charges of making a terrorist threat and assault on law enforcement officer. 

11:36 p.m., Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Elm Street, for a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival it was explained that a verbal argument had occurred. The female subject had moved out of the residence. No arrests made. 

11:39 p.m., Call of an intoxicated subject at a business in the 200 block of N. Washington Street, trying to get into cars. The subject was observed on foot near a business in the 300 block of Washington and Third Street, where he tried to evade Officers and was caught. The subject had been observed tampering with a vehicle in the 200 block of Ryan Street and had jumped into the passenger seat of a vehicle that was driving by; the driver had taken the subject to the business in the 200 block of Washington, where he got out and was trying to get other people to give him a ride. The subject then took off on foot as an officer was arriving at the location and was then caught in a parking lot at Washington and Ann Streets. The subject was transported to the police department and processed, and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting legal detention and was later released. 

11:46 p.m., Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Jackson Street in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival officers met with a father and son who had been arguing and shoving each other. Officers counseled the juvenile on his behavior. The father did not wish to pursue further action other than his son being counseled by law enforcement.

On Aug. 12, the Chillicothe Police Department received 116 calls for service.
