North Central Missouri College (NCMC) recently partnered with former Trenton resident and NCMC alumni, Michael Ransdell of Blue Coffee Pictures to produce a video highlighting the men’s golf program. The final piece, titled “Versus” has been nominated for an Emmy Award. As a nominee for the 43rd Annual Mid-America Emmy Awards, Commercial – Single Spot, the video is one of six in contention for the honor. This is Blue Coffee’s fourth year in a row being nominated for a Mid-America Emmy award; 10 nominations and one prior win. A film can be entered as long as it has been broadcast online or on TV and was created for a regional audience.

“Being able to work with Michael (Ransdell) and Joseph (Pollock) on a project is an amazing opportunity. The one constant in their work is the quality. I think it’s amazing that Michael is willing to come back to Trenton and help us out time and time again. The best part of working with them is being able to learn from the best,” said Craig Sager, director of marketing, NCMC.

“The nomination for the “Versus” film is special because it was created for NCMC. Being alumni from the school, it’s pretty awesome to come back home and be a part of something that was so fun to make and be recognized as worthy of an Emmy nomination is incredible.,” Ransdell, owner/director, Blue Coffee Pictures said. “The film itself was the brainchild of NCMC Golf Coach Craig Sager; he wanted to do something that resembled a Nike commercial. Nothing like setting the bar high! It’s nice to have something to aim for and what makes working with Craig and NCMC so fun is they encourage us to push our ideas and never hold us back. As a creative agency, it’s so nice to have the green light to just create!”

The 43rd Mid-America Emmy Gala will be held on Oct.5, at the Hilton Branson Convention Center and Hotel, Branson. To view the video, visit
