Dustin Lee Ritchie was arrested on Monday after being located in a dryer.
On the afternoon of Sept. 10, Livingston County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) deputies located a known fugitive in a dryer. According to a press release from Sheriff Steve Cox, the LCSO conducted a fugitive investigation in Utica and attempted to arrest an adult male, Dustin Lee Ritchie, who would not come outside of a home, blocked entryways and tampered with door locks. “The suspect was given verbal commands to surrender or face arrest plus additional charges but he chose not to comply,” Cox said. “Ritchie was hiding inside the clothes dryer in the home.”
LCSO staff made entry into the home and arrested Ritchie, 35, on Livingston County warrant for alleged trespassing-1st degree, which Cox said stems from driving levee on private property during the recent historic flooding earlier this year, and a Missouri parole warrant for an original drug offense violation.
Ritchie potentially faces additional resisting arrest charges and was transferred to the Daviess-Dekalb Regional Jail and will see the judge this week before being returned to the Missouri Department of Corrections.
