The State Historical Society of Missouri has been working on ways to commemorate our state’s bicentennial in 2021. My Missouri 2021, a photography contest, invites amateur and professional photographers to submit “snapshots” of their county. After review at the state level, a final 200 photographs will be selected and included in an online exhibit and a physical display that will travel around the state.

To make sure Livingston County is included, please submit photographs by the deadline of Nov. 1. You can find all the details as well as submit your photographs at the website https://missouri2021.org/my-missouri.

A local group from Chillicothe has been meeting to ensure Livingston County is included in some of these bicentennial projects. participants have submitted write-ups to the Encyclopedia project, a quilt square for the quilt project and are considering other initiatives.

If you have any questions, please contact Kirsten Mouton at the Livingston County Library at 660-646-0563.
