Acoustik Element will take the stage this weekend for the Arts Council’s next season show. Acoustik Element is best described as having a Latin vibe. The band will perform at 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 27, at the Gary Dickinson Performing Arts Center in Chillicothe.

Arts Council Director Mary Lou Vandeventer said the group is best known for Revolving their sound around the nylon-string guitars and percussive rhythm section; and for adding a Latin Twist to songs by artists such as Santana, The Eagles, The Beatles, Bob Marley, and more, while also staying true to Latin standards such as Besame Mucho, Sway, and Malaguena.

“They specialize in creating the right atmosphere for the event,” she said.

Acoustik Element is the house band, performing every Wednesday and Thursday at the Four Seasons Hotel in St. Louis and every Friday at Ameristar Casio in St Charles, Mo. In 2013, they performed before the legendary Carlos Santana at the Peabody Opera House, they have released four CDs and one DVD.

Vandeventer said the group has performed in the area before, much to the audience’s enjoyment. “This group performed at the Livingston County Library a couple of years ago and have come highly recommended by several of our “Arts Friends” and board members who attended the event. Word is “this is a fantastic band that you won’t want to miss,” she said.
