Halloween in Chillicothe is not complete without Boofest. For 20 years the annual event has brought trick-or-treaters to downtown Chillicothe for an evening of safe fun that includes more than 60 participating businesses and organizations from across town. Each business or organization will be in front of their individual businesses or have been assigned a location in which to hand out treats.
The following businesses and groups will be set-up for the evening on Washington Street: City Hall, The Sip, ResCare Workforce Services, Livingston County Title, North Central MO Mental Health Center, The Clipper, Wells Fargo, Calvary Baptist, Advanced America, Bella Brooke, Lauhoff Jewelry, Dapper Blue, Clifton’s, Indian Hills, Asbury Heights Living Center, Friends’, Chillicothe State Bank, Investors Community Bank, Helping Hands/House of Prayer North Central MO Veterinary Services, Staton’s Abstract, Citizens Bank and Trust, Bailey’s Photography (parking lot of Citizens Bank), Chamber of Commerce/Main Street/Tourism, Maurices, Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company, Medical Imaging of Chillicothe, Grand River Multipurpose Center and Grand River Healthcare.
Those participating on Clay Street include: Fairfield Inn and Comfort Inn Suites, Chillicothe Strength & Conditioning/Corporal Blue Smoothies.
Morningside Center will have onsite trick-or-treating at 1700 Morningside Dr., and Daizy Cleaners located at 716 Cherry St., welcomes trick-or-treaters as well.
Walmart, Elks Lodge First Christian Church will be participating on Jackson Street.
The Livingston County Library will be handing out books to the children at the library, on Locust Street. Other stops on Locust Street include: Foster Heating & Cooling, Hometown Pharmacy, Beemer’s Mens Apparel, First Baptist Church, Healthy Living, The Charmed Nook, McRentals, David Prather (AFLAC), Livingston Manor Care Center, Ballet Arts, American Family Insurance, Smith Furniture and More, Coconut Grove and Murphy’s Photography Studio.
Webster Street participants include: Woody’s Automotive, New Life Fellowship Church, The Pit Haunted House, State Beauty Supply, Preferred Family Health, Sensenich Jeweler, Bachman Farm Store, K& M Gourmet Popcorn & Snacks, DeLaval, Grace Baptist Church, KCHI Radio and Highview Baptist Church will have a bounce house inside Silver Moon Plaza.
