Festival of Lights begins Nov. 23

Festival of Lights organizers are making their list and checking it twice to be sure all lights and displays are ready as decorating at Simpson Park for the 2019 Festival of Lights has begun. Festival of Lights, a drive-through display of holiday lights and decorations in Simpson Park, will open for the season on Nov. 23. This popular community attraction continues to grow and attract more visitors every year.

What else is growing? Most everything decorated grows every year and requires more bulbs. More lights have been ordered to fully decorate the park’s growing trees. Much work is done in the spring and early fall to repair lights. Some displays have literally been recreated to require less maintenance. Some that were retired are making their appearance again.

Join organizers in the park to decorate for Festival of Lights 2019. A schedule of times and days for decorating is available by emailing fol@festivaloflightschillicothe.com or messaging Festival of Lights on Facebook. All help is welcome and needed.

The opening night celebration will be at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 23. Horse-drawn sleigh rides, warm drinks and a visit with Santa are all a part of the event. Funding for Festival of Lights is provided through the donations of individuals, area businesses and foundations. Drop a donation in the donation box at Simpson Park or mail it to P.O. Box 1032. Make checks payable to Festival of Lights. Memorial donations and corporate sponsorships are welcome. Contact fol@festivaloflightschillicothe.com or message Festival of Lights on Facebook.
