Aging in Place Livingston County and the VFW Information Assistance Group is hosting a Veteran Needs Day from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., on Nov. 6 at the Vern R. Glick Post of the American Legion, 1400 Washington St.
Veterans and their caregivers should benefit from the agencies on hand to get questions answered, information gathered and referrals to other resources accessible in the area.
Caregivers of this age group are strongly encouraged to attend to learn more about resources they may not be aware of for their loved one.
Various Veteran agencies will be represented, including the Family Assistance Center, Missouri Veteran’s Commission Service Officer, Vet Center, Veteran Employment, VA Shuttle, LICOVA and the VFW Information Assistance Group will have information about Honor Flight, Military Burial, Medical Equipment on loan locally, Poppies and more. Private entities scheduled to have a booth include Access II Disability Services, Grand River Multipurpose Center, Community Action Partnership North Missouri (CAPNCM), Veteran Home Assist, Catholic Charities, Hedrick Medical Center, Operation Help and the Pershing Museum will have booths at the event.
The event also includes a hospitality area including coffee, cookies, soups and cinnamon rolls for those attending.
The event is not limited to Livingston County residents, any Veteran or layperson who could
benefit is welcome to attend.
