The forum is an annual event, held Nov. 18 this year.
State and federal lawmakers along with local and higher education officials attended an annual legislative forum at North Central Missouri College (NCMC) on Nov. 18.
According to a press release, Representatives Allen Andrews, J. Eggleston, Danny Busick, Rusty Black and Dr. Jim Neely attended the forum. Others in attendance included Drew Dampf from Sen. Dan Hegeman’s office; Joe Hegeman for Congressman Sam Graves; Brandt Shields for Sen. Roy Blunt and Elizabeth Johnson for Sen. Josh Hawley. Also in attendance were Brian Millner, president of the Missouri Community College Association and Gerren McHam, special assistant for external relations for the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development. NCMC Foundation member Gary Black moderated the event.
Presenters discussed critical items for the upcoming legislative session and addressed funding for higher education to NCMC students, faculty/staff, trustees and the community. Those in attendance were also able to take questions from the crowd and media outlets.
NCMC’s Legislative Forum is held each year in the fall semester.
