The Grand River Valley Choir & Orchestra (GRVCO) will be presenting its annual Winter Concert, “Joyous Sounds of Christmas,” at 3 p.m., on Sat., Dec.14, in the First Baptist Church Sanctuary on Oklahoma Avenue in Trenton.

This concert marks the start of the 10th year for this group. Promoted primarily as an adult ensemble, these individuals represent 13 communities in the North Central Missouri region. Membership in the choir is around 36; the orchestra includes 21 members.

The communities represented include Cameron, Chillicothe, Gallatin, Galt, Jamesport, Laredo, Ludlow, Marshall, Mercer, Milan, Pattonsburg, Princeton and Trenton.

Linda Arnold is the conductor of the GRV Choir. Buddy Hannaford is the GRV Orchestra conductor. Cathie Lowrey is the accompanist.

Several presentations will be made throughout the program recognizing individuals who have contributed to the establishment and growth of the organization.

The Board of Directors will host a reception immediately following the program downstairs in Fellowship Hall where those in attendance can meet the performers and guests.

There is no charge for the concert; however, donations are accepted to help maintain the needs of the choir and orchestra. Contributions will also be collected for the Trenton Senior Center and their “Meals On Wheels” program. GRVCO is a 501(c)(3) organization.

The doors of the Sanctuary will open at 2:30 p.m.
