Happy New Year to You All!!

Christmas Eve, how Blessed we are—The Jones clan will be gathering over on Locust Street. I’m sure we will be reminiscing Christmases down on the farm, where the little red candle wreath was burning in the window. The Jones’ wish all our family and many wonderful friends a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Season.

Yes, the Beat Goes On—Come by and pick up The Blue Mound Chronicles, the very popular book, a great read with the local folks, would make a great gift and a wonderful addition to a reader’s collection. Stop by the newspaper office, $14.95. Thank you Joe Dillard and Crew.

We are so proud of the community of Chillicothe and the many generous folks that call it their home town. On our end here at the Constitution-Tribune for the wonderful food and monies for the Food for the Needy and the great outpour for Operation Help with your donations and our Greeting Card publishing your names, showing many Thanks. More than 60 people are listed on the Greeting Card with more than $5,000 donated. Again, we thank you for your Spirited Kindness.

The long and ever famous Chillicothe Hornets Football program has been selected for a state-wide honor, among one of 20 individuals and programs that will make up the 2020 class of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. The Hornets program was selected in part for the seven state championship games played with their five state titles. The team will join the late Coach Bob Fairchild, enshrined in 2002.

The ceremony will be Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020 at 5 p.m. at the University Plaza Hotel & Convention Center in Springfield, this will be preceded by an 11 a.m. reception at the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame and a 4 p.m. reception at the University Plaza. All former and current Chillicothe High School Football players and coaches are invited to attend and will receive a plaque with their name engrave and also will be introduced during the enshrinement. We were there in 2017 when Hamilton Penney High School Football Coach David Fairchild was enshrined into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. Talk about an amazing event. Contact Dan Nagel, CHS athletics director, at the school 660-646-0700 for ticket info.
