Press release for Jan.. 8, 2020

12:06 a.m., Officer arrested a subject in the 1300 block of North Washington Street following a traffic stop for a registration violation. The driver was found to be in possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute, paraphernalia, a weapon violation, no insurance, failure to register vehicle, no driver’s license and no seat belt. The subject was processed and was transported to Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail pending filing of charges.

3:00 a.m., Officer transported prisoner to Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail.

8:37 a.m., Suspicious vehicle parked in the 300 block of Woodrow Street. The vehicle was determined to be okay.

8:46 a.m., Officers out in the 800 block of Industrial Road to attempt warrant service. Subject was arrested on an active Livingston County warrant for violation of bond conditions and transferred to Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail.

9:14 a.m., Officer out on Public Relations detail in the 400 block of N. Washington Street.

9:21 a.m., Officer out at courthouse for court duties.

9:22 a.m., Officer out at courthouse for court duties.

10:12 a.m., Subjects in the police department to speak with officer in reference to questions on traffic ticket that they had received.

10:47 a.m., Officers at courthouse for prisoner transport.

11:38 a.m., Officers responded to the area of Smith and Williams Street regarding a report of a domestic disturbance. Officers made contact with the individuals involved, which led to the arrest of one subject for domestic assault. The subject was transported to the police department where they were processed and released with a summons.

1:36 p.m., Well-being check of subject in the 400 block of N. Washington Street. Subject found to be okay.

1:57 p.m., Officer out in the 200 block of W. Business 36 Highway on providing a training detail.

2:17 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop at Washington St, and Polk St. As a result of the investigation officers arrested a subject for driving while suspended and a subject on an active warrant. Subject of the warrant posted the required bond and the driver was released with summons to appear in court.

3:16 p.m., Officers have begun an investigation of a reported sexual assault. Investigation is continuing.

3:30 p.m., School Resource Officer out on a juvenile matter in the 100 block of Mitchell Avenue.

3:37 p.m., Report of a suspicious vehicle in the 10 block of Third Street. The vehicle had only ran out of fuel.

3:43 p.m., Officer out in the 1000 block of Graves Street on an investigation.

4:23 p.m., Officers began a juvenile investigation in the 1500 block of Third Street. The Livingston County Juvenile Officer was contacted and the juvenile was released to them and later transferred to a Juvenile Detention Facility.

5:08 p.m., Report of a residential burglary and theft from 200 block of Second Street. Investigation continuing.

5:41 p.m., Well-being check of residents in the 400 block of Elm Street after strange noises heard coming from the residence. Determined to be kids playing.

5:46 p.m., Request from resident in the 1500 block of Hickory Drive to speak with officer in reference to harassment on Facebook. Options were discussed and no report was made.

7:48 p.m., Officers checked premises in the 300 block of Dickinson Street. Everything was okay.

8:55 p.m., Traffic stop at Mohawk and 190 Hwy. for expired registration. A warning was given and a controlled substance was seized to be destroyed.

10:26 p.m., Report of possible domestic disturbance in the 1400 block of Polk Street. Officers contacted parties involved and one party left the residence for the night. No injuries and no arrests made.

On Jan. 8, the Chillicothe Police received 82 calls for service.
