We have stated this before, but so deserving in our part of the country—The POWER of the Road Maintenance Crews during the wintery months. To our city, our county and MODOT folks—your attention to the roads and streets in the area have been outstanding and the many hours you each have spent in your vehicles cleaning a path for all of us. We thank you. Could not travel without you.

Camp Rainbow Chili and Soup Lunch—yes a great event to benefit a great camp. Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Chillicothe Elk’s Lodge, 401 Harvester Rd.. Hosted by Camp Rainbow, there will be chili, potato soup, broccoli and cheese soup along with cinnamon rolls. Go out and have lunch, meet the campers and staff members, with a silent auction include in the activities. A free will donation will be accepted. This Camp held yearly at Crowder Park, near Trenton, has delighted lots of folks for many years and I am sure there are many here in Chillicothe, could share a rewarding story they brought home from visiting Camp Rainbow, I know I can.

Make plans, prepare yourself—1st Annual Chuck Haney Memorial 5K, Saturday, March 7. Register at the Grand River YMCA. The event starts at 8 a.m. at Silver Moon Plaza and ends at City Hall. All proceeds will support Chuck Haney Scholarships. Sounds like quite a challenge, are you up for it.

Yes, the Chillicothe R-II School Board has approved a new District Office and it will be constructed on the grounds of the north campus, which now includes Chillicothe Elementary and Learning Center, Chillicothe High School and Jerry Litton Memorial Stadium. Is that not grand! Architect firm for the project Strata Architecture, Kansas City. As Superintendent Dan Wiebers stated, what a bonus, 2001 Chillicothe High School graduate, Claire Ashbrook, Architect for Strata, will be working on the Project. Making Dad and Mom, Tom and Julie Ashbrook proud folks and for Claire to come back to her home town and make such an impact to our city, Super.
