Forums will be held on March 18 and 30.

On April 7, Chillicothe R-II patrons will consider an increase to the Chillicothe R-II School District’s operating levy. In an effort to educate voters about the levy issue, the Chillicothe Board of Education has planned two public forums. The first will be held at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, March 18, at the Chillicothe High School Library; the second will be held at 6 p.m., on Monday, March 30 in Livingston County Library CourtRoom.

During the forums, Superintendent Dan Wiebers will give a short presentation about the issue and then members of the Board of Education and Wiebers will field any questions from those in attendance.

“We are hoping for a good turnout,” Wiebers said. He added, “These programs are designed to give everyone an opportunity to learn more about the issue so they can go to the polls in April and make an informed decision.”

Those who are unable to attend the forums may also email their questions about the proposed levy increase to Wiebers at dwiebers@chillicotheschools.org, or call the district office at 660-646-4566.
