Growers needing to recertify or certify for a private pesticide applicator license usually attend a training event or come to their local County Extension office to watch a DVD. Because of COVID-19, this procedure has changed. The Missouri Department of Agriculture and the University of Missouri policy is “until further notice, private applicators are no longer able to visit their extension office and watch the DVD to recertify.”

Applicators in Livingston County needing a license or needing to recertify should contact the local Extension office by calling 660/646-0811 or emailing smithteres@missouri.edu to learn how to proceed.

Every farm must have a copy of the Private Pesticide Applicator Reference manual. If you do not have a manual, you may purchase a copy from the MU Extension office or through their website at: extension2.missouri.edu/m87. Study guides and certification forms can be obtained right inside the front door of the Livingston County Extension Office located at 511 Elm St. The applicator will be required to review the training material and fill out the study guide and send it to Valerie Tate, agronomy specialist. For more information, email tatev@missouri.edu or call 660-895-5123 and leave a message.
