Press release for April 7

3:27 a.m., Officer checked on a vehicle that had been parked at the Municipal Airport. Vehicle was not wanted and was okay.

3:38 a.m., Officers out in the 500 block of Jackson Street at the request of a resident concerned over a video on social media. Officers advised the subject that they could contact the social media and express their concern.

8:01 a.m., Officer speaking with subject that had questions regarding having begun a purchase transaction and now having issues with the purchase. Subject was explained their options.

8:06 a.m., Officers did a well-being check on a resident in the 1700 block of Third Street at the request of an employer. The subject had not reported for work. The subject was contacted and was okay. The subject didn’t believe it was a scheduled work day.

8:32 a.m., Officers out at business in the 1000 block of S. Washington Street on a continuing theft investigation.

10:23 a.m., Officers performing well-being check of residents in the 1200 block of Locust Street. Hadn’t picked up their mail for a few days. Officers contacted them and they were okay.

10:42 a.m., Officers out at business in the 1000 block of S. Washington Street for information on theft investigation.

10:56 a.m., Officer recovered an abandoned bicycle from the 10 block of Hickory Street. The bicycle was taken to the police department and can be claimed by the owner after providing a description.

12:33 p.m., Subject in the police department for employment purpose fingerprinting. Officer handling request.

1:09 p.m., Officers reported to the 1000 block of N. Washington Street where a vehicle had backed into a telephone pole and junction box. Information was obtained and AT&T was notified.

2:21 p.m., Officer assisted Emergency Services on a medical call in the 1600 block of Springhill Road.

2:41 p.m., Officer out at old Hedrick Medical Center property on 11th Street in reference parking and traffic issues. Issues handled by officer and no report.

6:36 p.m., Officers out in the 1400 block of Calhoun Street checking on report of illegal burn. The resident was contacted and advised of the violation and to extinguish the fire.

6:42 p.m., Officers responded to the police department, for service of a Livingston County Arrest Warrant. Officers arrested the subject for failing to wear a safety belt. The subject, a 21-year-old Jamesport resident, was able to post the required bond and was released pending court.

6:55 p.m., Report of disturbance in the 400 block of Elm Street. Officers responded to the location and contacted the parties involved. Determined to be argument between father and son, no physical injuries observed and no arrests made.

7:14 p.m., Report of kids playing on city playground equipment at Mack and Orchard Streets. Officer contacted kids and advised them that the equipment use is restricted at this time and to not play there.

9:59 p.m., Officers performing well-being check on resident in the 1800 block of Country Club Drive. Subject unable to contact the residents by phone. Officers made contact and the subject had gotten a new phone. All okay.

11:05 p.m., Officer checking vehicle in Simpson Park. Subjects playing social media game. Officer advised the subjects to leave the park.

On April 7, the Chillicothe Police Department received 71 calls for service.
