Press release for April 22
2:03 a.m., Officers responded to the 200 block of N. Washington Street to follow-up on an investigation. A subject was detained and upon a search of their property, narcotics were found in their possession. The contraband was seized and the subject was released.
2:07 a.m., Officer was contacted near the intersection of Calhoun and Elm streets by a subject wanting to turn themselves in on an active arrest warrant. Livingston County warrant for violation of bond conditions was confirmed as active and the 50-year-old Chillicothe resident was brought to the police department where paperwork was processed and the subject was released to appear in court on a later date.
2:34 a.m., Report of subject walking around with a spotlight in the 500 block of Calhoun Street. Officers searched the immediate area but were unable to locate any subject. Believed to be police officers searching the area for evidence and suspect(s) in theft investigation.
6:33 a.m., Officer took patrol vehicle for equipment maintenance.
9:46 a.m., Officers out in the 800 block of Elm Street on a continuing theft investigation.
9:59 a.m., Officers took a report of a check being stolen from a mailbox in the 2200 block of Clay Street. The theft occurred on April 22 between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Investigation continuing.
10:17 a.m., Officers out in 500 block of Calhoun Street searching area and continuing theft investigation.
10:45 a.m., Officer spoke to subject on the phone reporting possible stolen bicycle. Information taken.
11:29 a.m., Officers took a report of a check stolen from the mail in the 700 block of Grandview. The theft occurred on April 22 between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.
11:36 a.m., Officer receiving further information from subject in reference to mail theft.
12:58 p.m., Parking complaint in the 1600 block of Third Street. Subject was contacted to move vehicle.
1:18 p.m., Officers called to a business in the 600 block of S. Washington Street for a disturbance involving a former employee. The subject had left prior to officers’ arrival. The subject was contacted and trespassed from the location.
3:27 p.m., Officers took a report of fraud which occurred over the internet. A website which sold tools, sent stickers instead and is avoiding contact with the buyer. Investigation continuing.
3:30 p.m., Officers out at residence in the 200 block of Williams Street on a continuing child sexual abuse case. Investigation continuing.
5:41 p.m., Report from the area of Third and Hickory streets of a careless and imprudent driver in a black mini-van. Officers searched the area and were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.
6:26 p.m., Report of minor vehicle accident in the 200 block of N. Washington Street. Subjects were contacted and exchanged pertinent information. No report.
7:29 p.m., Officer requested in the 200 block of Wilson Street by subject having questions in reference a verbal altercation with the mother of their child. Officers spoke with subject and situation was resolved.
11:18 p.m., Officer provided a courtesy ride from the 2600 block of N. Washington Street to a location in the 400 block of S. Washington Street.
11:43 p.m., Report of yelling coming from a residence in the 1400 block of Miller Street. Officers located the address and spoke with residents. Child is calm at this time. No report.
On April; 22, the Chillicothe Police Department received 92 calls for service.
