The person was never in the county when they had COVID-19.
Despite the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services COVID-19 count for Livingston County showing there are now three positive cases in the county, Administrator of the Livingston County Health Center, Sherry Weldon, says the person was never in the county when they had COVID-19.
“This is a recovered case that happened to test positive in another state that has since returned to Chillicothe. Therefore, we have to count it here,” she said.
On Wednesday, the center announced on its Facebook page they had received a donation of face masks.
“We received a donation from the Patterson Family Foundation, so if you are in need of a mask, stop by 800 Adam Drive and request at the front window,” the post read.
Health center officials also explained that maks are not required in public, but social distancing is.
“Social distancing is required per the State Order, but wearing a mask in public is not. It is a recommendation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to stop the spread of germs, but not a requirement at this time,” the post read.
