The Livingston County Sheriffs Office (LCSO) has partnered with area citizens to  give away 10 new bicycles.

According to Sheriff Steve Cox, the contest is open to any young person who resides in Livingston County. All prizes to be awarded during July 2020.

On July 17 a boy and girls bike will be given away to children ages 2-4 years and a boys and girls bike for children 5-6 years.

To enter download or pick up a copy at the LCSO of the Law Enforcement K-9, http://livcoso.org/plugins/show_image.php?id=3523 and have your child color the page. Child's name, age and a valid phone number for a parent must be included and turned into LCSO at 901 Webster or email to Captain Sindy Thomas at sthomas@livcoso.org Entries must be received by 4 p.m., on July 15.

On July 24 a boys and girls bicycle for ages 7- 8 and a boys and girls bicycle for ages 9 - 12 will be given away.

Cox said children in these age categories should draw a picture of something to do with the sheriff's office and write an answer this question: What would you do if you were sheriff or deputy? Parents must include the child's name, age and valid phone number for a parent and the entry must be received by 4 p.m., July 22. Entries can be taken to the LCSO or emailed to Captain Sindy Thomas as sthomas@livcoso.org.

On July 31 a boys and girls bicycle for Livingston County residents ages 13 - 15, will be given away. To enter the contest parent’s should submit a document with no more than 100 words on "How law enforcement can better help them." Please include the child's name, valid phone number to contact a parent and drop off the entry at the LCSO or emailed to Captain Sindy Thomas at sthomas@livcoso.org by 4:00 p.m. July 29.

There are also still some coloring books, crayons and other items for free, for young area residents at the LCSO.

Cox said the bicycles are new and have been donated by some wonderful people and the Livingston County Sheriff's Office to help young people in the county. Winners are selected by a group of LCSO employees based on the quality and content of the submission. LCSO employees and their families are not eligible to enter the contest.
