3:46 a.m., Barking dog complaint in the 1600 block of Clay Street. Dog located in the 1800 block and owners contacted. Taking dog in for the night.
6:20 a.m., Officer out in the 1300 block of Calhoun Street. Reported theft from car overnight.
6:47 a.m., Officers out in the 1000 block of Graves Street checking on suspicious abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
6:57 a.m., Officers checked on a car having possibly been broken into in the 1100 block of Calhoun Street. No report at this time.
9:23 a.m., Officers recovered a black back-pack and contents in the 1500 block of Calhoun Street.
9:44 a.m., Officer out at Chilli Bay on an investigation.
9:47 a.m., Officer out in the 1200 block of Calhoun Street on continuing investigation.
10:37 a.m., Officer out at the police department on an investigation involving a juvenile.
10:50 a.m., Officer performed a funeral escort for a local business.
11:33 a.m., Officers performed a well-being check in the 500 block of Waples Street. Subject found to be okay.
11:51 a.m., Officer located a purse in the 400 block of Monroe Street and its contents strewn about. Purse was brought to the the police department to be claimed by owner.
12:05 p.m., Officer in route to St. Joseph to pick up patrol vehicle that had been there for maintenance.
12:17 p.m., Officers out in the 1100 block of Calhoun Street. Vehicle broken into.
12:18 p.m., Officers out in the 900 block of Vine Street. Vehicle broken into.
1:16 p.m., Officers performing premises check in the 900 block of Adam Drive. Everything okay.
1:27 p.m., Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Graves Street in reference to three children left unattended in a vehicle. A customer notified law enforcement. As officers and deputies responded, the mother arrived to the vehicle from shopping. Children's Division was contacted and information will be sent to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of charges.
2:22 p.m., Officer performed an emergency contact to a resident in the3000 block of BelAir Drive.
3:37 p.m., Officers responded to the intersection of Washington Street and Ann Street for a two-vehicle crash. Both vehicles were driven from the scene with minor damage. One driver was cited for following too closely resulting in a crash.
4:16 p.m., Complaint of dogs running-at-large in the 400 block of J.F. Kennedy. Officer contacted the reporting party. Handled by officer.
4:31 p.m., Officer out in the 1100 block of Calhoun Street on investigation.
5:09 p.m., Officer picked up a purse that had been left in the 500 block of S. Washington Street. The owner was contacted and recovered her property.
8:30 p.m., Officer checked on parking complaint in the 1400 block Dowell Drive. Handled by officer.
8:33 p.m., Report of strange actions being taken by subject in vehicle at westbound on-ramp to U.S. Highway 36 from U.S. Highway 65. No vehicle was found.
8:51 p.m., Officer recovered an old bottle of medication from the 600 block of Elm Street.
9:39 p.m., Officers stopped kids on a riding mower. Kids were counseled by officer.
9:45 p.m., Officers checked on a storm drain grate that had collapsed on Washington Street at Third Street. Traffic cones were placed at the location. Highway department notified.
9:54 p.m., Fireworks complaint in the 600 block of Sunset Avenue. Officer warned the subjects and advised they were stopping.
10:56 p.m., Officer performed a well-being check in the 300 block of Montgomery Street. Subject was found to be monitored by family and okay.
10:57 p.m., Officer made contact with a subject in the 600 block of W. Business Highway 36 that she was attempting to locate in reference a previously reported theft. The previously reported stolen item was recovered and the subject was transported to the police department, processed for the theft, cited and released.
11:19 p.m., Officers checked the area of Broadway and Calhoun streets, following a report of someone shinning a green laser around the area. Officer could not locate the source.
11:50 p.m., Officer provided a courtesy ride to a subject to the 600 block of W. Business Highway 36.
On July 10, the Chillicothe Police Department received 89 calls for service.
On July 10, Officers responded to several reports of vehicle break-ins where property was stolen. The incidents occurred in the 1100 to 1200 block of Calhoun, 900 block of Dickinson, 900 block of Vine Street, and in between the locations. Officers have discovered a time frame from 11 p.m., July 9 through 2 a.m., July 10. It is believed there is a group of three individuals being viewed on surveillance cameras in the area. 3:18 a.m., Officers performed a well-being check in the 600 block of Calhoun Street. Subject found to be okay.
8:13 a.m., Officer out at the police department on a continuing investigation.
10:07 a.m., Officer out at the police department on a follow-up investigation.
10:29 a.m., Officer out at courthouse for court duties.
11:01 a.m., Officers met with an individual at the police department in reference to an online scam and threat. Investigation is continuing.
12:04 p.m., Officers out at the courthouse on a juvenile matter.
12:18 p.m., Report of a dog in a hot car in the 1000 block of Graves Street. Officer made contact with owner.
12:21 p.m., Officers out in the 10 block of Herriman Street reference a tractor-trailer unit tearing down overhead wires. Information obtained and AT&T will be notified.
12:52 p.m., Officer out at business in the 500 block of N. Washington Street with subject that had questions about a city ordinance.
1:51 p.m., Officer out in the 200 block of Jackson Street on a follow-up investigation.
2:32 p.m., Officer at the police department taking report of possible sexual offense involving juveniles. The investigation is continuing.
4:07 p.m., Officer out at the police department on fingerprinting detail.
4:51 p.m., Officers reported to the 200 block of Cherry Street to a report of a skateboarder in traffic. Officers were unable to locate the subject.
5:01 p.m., Officer out in the 1000 block of Elm Street on a follow-up investigation.
8:46 p.m., Officer out in the 900 block of Elm Street on a follow-up investigation.
11:17 p.m., Loud music complaint on Orchard Street. Officer located the source and they turned the music down.
On July 9, the Chillicothe Police Department received 66 calls for service.
