New Missouri Department of Health EpiTrax Reporting System

Moving forward, inmates at Chillicothe Correctional Center (CCC) who test positive, will be added to Livingston County’s COVID-19 county numbers.

According to a press release from the Livingston County Health Center, the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services is using a new system for managing COVID-19 data called EpiTrax, and inmates at the Chillicothe Correctional Center will now be included in daily count numbers, and on the DHSS Dashboard.

Previously, positive cases of COVID-19 among inmates were logged through the Missouri Department of Corrections, but those cases were not included in the DHSS count. According to the press release, the health center has been reporting the current number of positive inmate cases and recoveries per the Department of Corrections website through its Facebook page on weekdays.

There has is no specific time plan for when the existing cumulative 240 cases among CCC inmates will be added to Livingston County’s count on the Department of Health dashboard. Of those 240, 197 have recovered and 43 are active cases.

“Our numbers may be confusing for a time due to this change,” said Health Center Administrator

Sherry Weldon. “But the changes being made through the EpiTrax system should give us a clearer picture of coronavirus infection in the county moving forward.”
