It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Gary Ray Wilson, who passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 25, 2016. Gary was born in Chillicothe, Missouri on July 19, 1940, the son of Elmer and Katherine (Cox) Wilson. He was a 1958 graduate of Chillicothe High School, where he also received the FFA State Farmer Degree and District Star Farmer. On June 21, 1964 he was united in marriage to Paula Michelle Fisher, who survives of the home. They lived the majority of their lives in the Chillicothe area and briefly in Hurst, Texas. Gary was engaged in farming for over 25 years, sold real estate and retired from the Missouri Department of Corrections. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church of Chillicothe, Missouri. Gary enjoyed spending time with family and friends, was an avid antiques collector and a friend to all. Gary is survived by his wife, Paula and children Tim Wilson and wife Hamsa of Phoenix, Arizona; Michelle Hibner and husband Mark of Montgomery, Texas; Melissa Johnson and Husband Todd of Bedford, Texas; Mark Wilson and wife Kayla of Fort Worth, Texas, eight grandchildren, Maya Wilson, Natalie (Hibner) Miller, Nicole Hibner, Aaron Johnson, Allison Johnson, Alec Wilson, Tyler Wilson, and Kodi Wilson; and 3 great grand-daughters, Melony Wooley, Presley Miller and Kolby Miller. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Katherine Wilson, two sisters Colleen Hargrave and Clara Dean Sherrow. “His Lord said unto him, well done good and faithful servant. Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” Mathew 25:23 Funeral Services will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, August 29, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, August 29, 2016, from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
