Ronald Carroll Gould, 85, Georgetown, Texas, devoted husband, loving f a t h e r, and proud grandfather, passed away July 27, 2022.

Born November 12, 1936, in Rock Island, Illinois. Grew up in Chillicothe, Illinois. Ron joined the Cadet program in 1960 and served as a pilot in the Air Force until 1966. After serving, he was hired at American Airlines as a pilot in 1966 and retired as a Check Airmen in 1996.

He loved sports of all kinds. He loved his Cubs and Cowboys. He like spending time fishing or hunting with friends and family. He also would play in local tennis tournaments and play in pickup basketball games well into his 60s. He also loved playing golf with his friends and family. He was a quiet and humble man. Ron is a Christian with a servants heart. He was always willing to lend a hand to his friends or a stranger in need. Of all his accomplishments throughout his life what Ron cherish most was his family and the many friends he collected over the years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Helen (Kain) Gould; sister Jeanette Cox, brother Gary Gould; sister Sandra Grisham.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Iris Jackson Gould; daughter Beverly Gould, son Ron Jr (Pam) Gould; grandsons Dalton, Zane and Jett Gould; brother Dennis (Nancy) Gould, sister Carol Ann Pence, brother Norman (Carol) Gould, and brother Bruce (Diane) Gould; sister-in-law Carol; and 20 nieces and nephews.

There will be two Celebrations of life. The first will be Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Longman Hall, 4pm – 8pm, 1216 N Sixth St, Chillicothe, Illinois 61523. The second will be Saturday, September 10, 2022, The Oaks at Legacy, 1pm 4pm, 301 Del Webb Blvd, Georgetown, TX 78633.
