This year marks the 20th annual year of the Festival of Lights in Simpson Park on Washington Street in Chillicothe. This is a free drive-through display that will be lit up through the holiday season. It’s been shining bright this season since Nov. 23. Visitors are also encouraged to jump out of the vehicle for family photo ops on the bridges and a lit tunnel.

Several volunteers and community organizations have contributed to the display being a success with help hanging the lights and ensuring they stay lit up for visitors to enjoy. Be sure to check out the donation box that helps support the project near the entrance by the playground on the road at the park.

Also, take note of Chillicothe’s own tribute to the Kansas City Chiefs with the Chiefs-themed tree.
