Chillicothe (Mo.) Hornets score three times in first 34 minutes, hang on for 3-2 triumph Saturday

KNOB NOSTER — Bryce Hague’s second goal of the first half stood up as the winner Saturday as Chillicothe’s soccer Hornets held on to edge host Knob Noster 3-2.
After Brennan Munson started the scoring in the 19th minute with his second goal of the year, Hague’s fourth of 2016 10 minutes later made it 2-0.
When the junior got his fifth only four minutes later, it looked like clear sailing for the Hornets, but Knob Noster tallied in the last minute of the half and then again in the 66th minute to make it close.
Ridge Howe assisted on both Hague goals after Jake Chapman set up Munson’s marker.
CHS goalkeeper Drew Toe-debusch made six saves.
The Hornets had lost at home Thursday to St. Joseph: Benton 2-0.
The CHS booters (3-4-1) are to play at Maryville Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 4 p.m.
