It looks like another overloaded Saturday of backed-up Missouri high school basketball tournament action could be in the offing.
The traditional hugely-busy late-January week of high school basketball tournaments hosted by C-T-area school has seen weather already disrupt the first two nights’ schedule at one site with the prospect of daytime rain Tuesday turning to freezing rain or a wintry mix or flat-out snow while temperatures drop from above freezing to well below creating a strong possibility of additional disruptions.
Able to get all four of their scheduled opening-round games in Monday (Jan. 21, 2019) were tourneys at Cameron, Hamilton, Keytesville, and North Platte, as well (apparently) as Gilman City.
However, two Meadville Invitational games involving Grundy County R-5 of Galt were postponed to Wednesday and sent to an auxiliary site (Mendon) and Tuesday’s planned slate at Meadville already has been postponed to Wednesday.
In addition to the adjustments already announced by Meadville athletics director Drew Nier, there was a Twitter posting from an unofficial source that Tuesday’s slate of Gilman City Tournament games, including those of the Jamesport: Tri-County Lady Mustangs and Mustangs, also already had been postponed 24 hours.
