Former Hickman standout Trae Robertson earned his second victory of the year and Missouri exploded for 14 runs in the Tigers' 14-6 victory over Missouri State Tuesday in Springfield.

The Tigers hit three home runs in the contest, provided from the bats of Clayton Peterson, Connor Brumfield and Cameron Swanger. MU strung together 11 hits and 11 walks in the contest, while leaving 14 runners on base.

After allowing Missouri State to take a 1-0 lead after two innings, the Tigers put up a five-spot in the third to reclaim the lead, then blew the game out of the water in the fifth with another five-run frame.

Mark Vierling led MU offensively, going 3-for-6 at the plate with four RBI and two runs scored. Peterson, who had all four of his RBI come on a grand slam, had the only other multi-hit game for MU.

Robertson pitched two scoreless innings in relief, racking up four strikeouts in the process. Tommy Springer started the game for MU, pitching four innings while allowing four hits, two runs, two walks and striking out seven Missouri State batters. Trey Dillard also threw two scoreless innings in relief for the Tigers with three strikeouts.

MU (26-12-1) is back in action at 5 p.m. Thursday against No. 6 Georgia in Athens, Georgia.
