Stephen Wyse

Stephen Wyse, 55, of Columbia, MO, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022, at his home. Private family services will be held. A public Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in the name of Stephen Wyse.

Stephen Sherman Wyse was born, July 20, 1966, in Richmond, MO, the son of Harry S. Wyse Jr. and Joy Marie (Kenney) Wyse.

Stephen had many accomplishments in his life. He played football and basketball for the Spartans and was high school Chess Champion. Graduating from Richmond High School in 1984 he was very proud where his roots started.

Stephen enlisted in the US Army in 1984 where he became a Military Police Sergeant trained in army Criminal Investigations and US Customs in Germany. He finalized his military career in 1998 at the reserves at Richards-Gebaur AFB in Grandview, MO. While serving family and his country it sparked his interest in becoming a lawyer. Stephen went to study Russian History and Politics and the University of Missouri. He received his BA in History and JD in Law from MU in 1998. He started his first law practice in Nevada, Mo and later moved back to Columbia to found Wyse Law Firm in 2002.

He loved his Missouri Tigers and attended many games. He also worked as a Democrat Political consultant for members of congress and Governor Mel Carnahan. He was also a legislative assistant to former Missouri State Senator Ted House. He always loved a good debate with family or friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory his father Harry (Linda) Wyse of Chillicothe, MO, four sisters Brenda (Norman) Hughes of Blue Springs, MO, Laura Wyse of Avondale, AZ. Glenda Wyse of Mexico, MO and Elizabeth (Jason) Anderson of Chillicothe, MO, Great Uncle and Great Aunt, many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother Joy Dunwoodie, his Grandparents and step mother, Sharon Wyse.
